Advocate Philip Sinel Gives his Reaction to the (infamous) Speech of William Bailhache. (Part Two)

Advocate Philip Sinel.

In PART ONE of our in-depth, and exclusive, interview with local constitutional expert Advocate Philip Sinel we discussed (among much more) the infamous SPEECH given by the retiring Bailiff WILLIAM BAILHACHE  (Tuesday 8th of October 2019). Where it appeared the (now) former Bailiff carried out a VENDETTA for his brother (and former Bailiff)  PHILIP BAILHACHE. We reported how William Bailhache seemingly vindicated former Senior Investigating Officer (Operation Rectangle) Lenny Harper whose reaction to the apparent vindication we published HERE and HERE.

Part two is a direct continuation of part one where Advocate Sinel exclusively reveals that he is currently writing a book where "THE JERSEY SITUATION" will feature. He goes on to discuss his thoughts, and interactions with former Senator, and Home Affairs Minister Ian Le Marquand who regular readers will recall ran a media campaign, and KANGAROO COURT, against (possibly illegally) suspended former Chief Police Officer GRAHAM POWER QPM. Advocate Sinel Did not recognise the politician/Home Affairs Minister Ian Le Marquand to the Judicial Greffe/Magistrate Ian Le Marquand. Something the former Police Chief didn't recognise either where he once wrote (and buried by the Old Media):

"So what happened to Justice?

It has been said that a Fascist is a Liberal who has just been mugged. I am inclined to wonder whether an autocrat is a Magistrate who has been appointed Minister for Home Affairs.

There are two principles of Justice which most people know and respect. One is that a person who is not proved guilty is presumed innocent. Another is that judgement should not be reached until both sides of the case have been heard. As the Island’s Magistrate, Ian le Marquand was generally respected for upholding both principles. So what happened to him once he was “anointed” as the Minister for Home Affairs................................?" Posted HERE.

Regular readers will be aware that the then Home Affairs Minister Ian Le Marquand possibly ILLEGALLY published parts of the discredited prosecution case against Mr. Power, and after saying he WOULD PUBLISH the DEFENCE CASE he never did. Perhaps he was stuck in the TOILET?

Former Health Minister and whistleblower Stuart Syvret

Which brings us on to the Old Media who (interview below) Advocate Sinel does not hold in high regard. Despite ALL of the local Old Media reporting extensively on the discredited prosecution case against the former Chief Police Officer when former Health Minister, and whistleblower, Stuart Syvret LEAKED Mr. Power's defence case to BBC Jersey they buried it. Did not broadcast a single word of it. Mr. Syvret subsequently leaked it to the rest of the local Old Media who TO THIS DAY have not published a single word of it.

The entire Old Media set about discrediting Operation Rectangle, and by implication, the Survivors/Abusees. The Old Media churned out some of the most ridiculous stories given by Ian Le Marquand including that 65 children's teeth, some with root still attached which couldn't have been shed naturally all fell through the same gap in a floorboard. Mick Gradwell saying that the same teeth were left there for the Tooth-Fairy. The Old Media just churned that gumph out and never questioned a single word of it. Gradwell saying that the Cellars at Haut de la Garenne didn't even exist which VFC and former Deputy Bob Hill showed with VIDEO EVIDENCE that they did.

Advocate Sinel remembers what role the Old Media has played in turning against the Survivors and lying to the public, either by omission or otherwise. He cannot (in his words) "forgive or forget" what they did, and in most cases, continue to do, in lying to the public. Like most who have followed this dark cloud in Jersey's history Advocate Sinel has complete confidence in this (and other) Blog(s) who have been at the forefront of reporting the truth and steering away from the nonsense of Tooth-fairies, disappearing cellars and BATHS.

Untrusted Old Media

We believe that it was Operation Rectangle that exposed the local Old Media for its complicity with the Jersey establishment and why it now (according to the latest SOCIAL SURVEY) only enjoys the confidence of 37% of Islanders. We have seen an improvement in the reporting of the JEP since the new Editor has been in-post and hope this continues. The BBC and ITV/CTV remain (in our view) as untrustworthy, and complicit, as they ever were. We could put up literally dozens of links to the conspiracy theories and propaganda churned out by the Old Media but for those interested please click on the labels at the bottom of this post.

We would like to thank Advocate Sinel for the interview, for his confidence, and support, of our Blog and for continuing to speak up for the Survivors and good people of Jersey who just want the truth to be told. we also look forward to the publication of his book..................................................

  2. Ian Le Marquand - "Mr Beanish"??? Careful, Advocate, didn't a former politician get attacked by the Filthy Rag for making that comparison.

  3. Speaking of the sixty five childrens teeth (main posting) and Ian Le Marquand's 'explanation" (fairy tale) that they all fell through a gap in a floorboard (some with root still attached which couldn't have been shed naturally) THIS POSTING is a reminder of the bewilderment of Mr. Le Marquand's mental state and the absolute tosh repeated by the Old Media without question.

  4. Ian Le Marquand's position was always that of a frightened, weak, inadequate little man. Deficient; cowed, spineless, pathetic.

In addition to being prima facie criminal.

The forces of good are catching up with Ian Le Marquand.

Question is - will they catch him - before he confesses?

If the latter, publicly, better for him. If the former - he gets pulled in - much, much worse for him.

Very possibly the first of the inadequate, crooked, 'traditional' 'Jerseymen' to get 15 years in prison.

  5. Has no one on here noticed the successful move by Establishment poodle Deputy Russell Labey to further erode political debate in the Assembly? This has just passed people by and with it the importance. Having members only able to speak for 15 minutes now is a black farce. Fine for the do-nothings like Labey but what about real, hard difficult decisions? This will only ensure that things are rushed through 'under the carpet' so to speak with even more ease. Russell Labey is an embarrassment and the fact that he is Chair of PPC is no accident. When, I ask, will he be bring forward moves to remove the dual role and all the other flaws he, we and the recently visited elections commission know that we have?

  6. Deputy Russell Labey is a Bailiff apologist. He won't move to end the role. We need people committed to democracy in important roles like running PPC. Not noddy-dogs.

  7. Three points to make on the above comments. Firstly in answer to Anonymous 13 November at 10.05. It certainly did not pass me by that Labey had proposed and won this proposition. What a nonsense, and let's face it those who voted 'Contre' are those who barely string more than three sensible words together in the States sittings in any event, so very handy for them. Wonder if they are prepared to take a cut in pay in view of the fact that have to do even less now?
Observation number two are Stuart's comments in regard to Ian Le Marquand. Stuart, you were absolutely spot-on. This man made a total fool of himself and his position as Home Affairs Minister with his inane, embarrassing and bizarre behaviour in regard to the Haut de la Garenne affair. Tooth fairies, hiding in toilets etc! You just could not make it up however hard you tried.
Finally, Philip Sinel, a brave and outspoken and honest man not afraid of the truth. You have had your fair share of what our 'Government' throws at people like yourself. Keep up the good work and good luck with the book. How we need more like you.

  8. Advocate Sinel rightly criticises the Filthy Rag amongst his comments. Can I ask if I am the only reader who has noticed that the Rag seems to have stopped taking comments on all of their stories? This isn't much of a loss I know because all these seemed to consist of horrible troll abuse nine times out of ten aimed at Trevor and Shona Pitman or else garbage attacking Reform. IThis must have all been done with the JEP's knowledge as nobody in their right mind would allow comments that haven't been through an editorial process? |I know you have said that you could double your comments if you let any old abuse through. Doesn't anyone else find this weird? I have screen grabbed some of the worst ones and you really could write a blog about the abuse that has been allowed to go up. Thank heavens for the responsible blogs.

I took this up with the JEP way back and they had rubbish excuses for leaving the troll's multi moniker comments in place. They are a lost cause in this regard. It's probably no loss that they have shut down comments.

I have commented a few times on their tweets but that just dies the death.

Apart from generally being an establishment shill the JEP is a desperately parochial rag. It reminds me of the Belfast Telegraph of my youth. But that paper has since evolved into something more broadly acceptable. I suspect the JEP will be gone before it reaches that stage.

    1. Told that things are so bad there now because of falling sales that some staff have to do two jobs? Also heard many of these workers have had to become 'self-employed' to stay on? Can that really been true?

Not even anyone for them to blame either. Rubbish reporting, they don't really do journalism as has been said here before. The allowance of the troll abuse mentioned against the usual targets has probably been the final nail in the curtain.

My only surprise is that some of the newspapers victims haven't taken them to court. But then we know how that would end with Jersey's broken justice system.

  10. The Rag has brought it all on themselves so who gives a fig? A lousy excuse for a newspaper who always put its support for the establishment before the victims and even attacked those few who fought for them. Hope it folds tomorrow. Long live the blogs.

  13. No name so sorry, not given permission to use it, but upon speaking to a long time associate that works for the JEP he had some interesting ( for some ) news regarding the future of the old Rag. The JEP intend to turn their rather large plot at five oaks into houses getting a very big payday. This means closing the offices. How about income ? This will they hope be attained by selling their highly developed software which allows a reporter to input into a small central hub from anywhere, via the internet.

Then it all goes to a computerised printing machine therefore no big offices needed, one editor who may employ a graphic artist, self employed journalists, self employed delivery drivers and a small team to man the printing machine. Thats about it. Has the paper got a long future on Jersey, personal opinion says no, there is not enough value in the content for what they charge the customer.

    1. JEP news would be more accurate if they did not have any reporters! I didn't say journalists because they have never had any of those. But who cares anyway? Heard their former sales are down two-thirds? That can't be sustainable if true even with robots.

  15. Dear VFC,

Can I comment on another incredible badly thought out states decision for the general population, they have voted to increase petrol by 6p per litre making it more expensive than the UK.

How dumb are your politicians ? An increase of 27p per gallon is feeding inflation big time. The increased cost to small businesses that need a vehicle over a year and any one who relies on a car ( mums taxi for the kids ) all are going to be hit hard. The states say that for every 2p charged extra they will reap one million pounds into the treasury ? Therefore simple maths means they will make £3 million out of the increase. Mess about with fuel prices it will affect almost everyone. More expensive taxis, deliveries, disposable income for young families hit. The reason given is the money is required for climate change, and to build a fund reaching five million. Guess what folks they have no idea how it will be allocated or how it is to be spent.

Rather than make Jersey more expensive why not research and claw back the hospital spending ? Where did that 47 Million go ? No planing permission therefore no building, no plans of any worth. It is thought the preferred builder Mc Alpine may be pocketing a million a month as a retainer. Why are your states members not holding an official enquiry into where this incredibly large amount of cash disappeared, without anything solid produced ? Now that would be good Government instead of an inflationary petrol tax hike.
