Celebrating Democracy Day.......Jersey Style.

After the success of the YISS CAMPAIGN, and by popular demand, Lord Reginald Hamilton Tooting Rawley Jones III returns to our screens in what we hope will become a regular series of political, satirical, commentary.

As the UK celebrated ‘Democracy Day’ this week, to mark 750 years of the first parliament of elected representatives at Westminster, The Jersey Conservative Party showed how it is committed to scaling back democracy, by making sure that it will now be even more difficult to call a ‘requête for a parish Assembly.

Writing opposing the move, brought by the Comité des Connétables P.173/2014, Former Constable and Minister, Mike Jackson criticised the Comité saying: The requête is the ‘little person’s’ opportunity to get their proposition considered and in view of the numbers that generally attend Parish Assemblies, the requirement for 4 signatories seems reasonable but 10 unnecessarily onerous.
Given that there is little to be gained by this proposition please review your support for it as I don’t believe it does the office of Connétable any favours!’

At the same time, the Conservative majority fought off proposals from the opposition – Reform Jersey – to increase the minimum wage by a further 10p an hour, P.175/2014 and to protect workers from unfair dismissal. It will now be possible to dismiss employees P.169/2014 in an unfair way for 12 months, not just six.

In this video, our good friend and local political commentator, Lord Reginald Hamilton Tooting Rawley Jones III praises the success of the Jersey’s Conservative Party, of which he is the proud patron, and calls on Jersey residents to do more to support this government of the rich for the rich.

  1. When is Reform Jersey going to start taking a mature approach to Jersey Politics?
Right Wing people come from all walks of life including the Bedsits down the crevices of town so to stereotype people like this is not only foolhardy, but distances themselves even further from many voters.

    1. Lighten up it's called satire and I for one see it as a refreshing look on what is a gloomy situation. Good on you Monty and RJ.

    2. making a joke out of Reform - i want reform but they are making a joke out of it ...which is obviously the plan...at the end of the day they are all the same

    3. It was Reform Jersey who brought P175and 169 and it was the Conservative Party who voted against them that is hardly all being the same. It was the Connetables who trod on the rights of ordinary people with P173 and Reform Jersey opposed it hardly the same. Refreshing to see things from a satirical view point and I hope Lord Reginald Hamilton Tooting Rawley Jones III will become a regular feature on here. A real breath of fresh-air.

  3. Great stuff Monty and RJ! Some people just do not have any sense of satire or humour. Indeed some people just cannot face the truth if it hit them in the face.

  4. Yo! Big idup 4 da Lord. Nice to see some much needed light hearted satire brought in to proceedings and hope the Lord becomes a regular fixture on here. Good work.

  5. Reform shouldn't be associated with "taking the piss" - and it seems a quite bizarre play to dress up in clowns if they want to be taken seriously...which clearly they don't.

I've got nothing against Sam or Monty per se but what the hell are they doing ? surely they must know the particular demographic of our island and the people who live here ...the fact is that the majority of our politicians,if they can be called that, are not politicians.... Our Island needs leaders not clowns!

If they were serious about democracy then they would both grow a pair and go and get it - im of the opinion that they know this but just want to tow this "opposition" image to the "party that are already in government. The discerning of us know this and all this condescending clown rubbish wont wash with me. I hear Baillache and the crew actually support them with regards to their party plans and was actually at the heart of helping them set up i hear ...no wonder !

    1. As the second comment says lighten up it's a bit of fun/satire and I welcome it. Instead of attacking RJ why not condem the anti democratic proposition the Connetables got passed or the attack on low and middle earners by the Conservative Party?

  7. Found a thread from Wednesday.

Jonny Haworth - I haven't got time to usually look at his blog but I have reported his threats to a number of parties including the States of Jersey Police as I translate his actions as a form of blackmail. I've also spoken to the Probation Service as he is another States member ignoring the Rehabilitation of Offenders Jersey Law and also the Media who ironically said they were aware of counter accusations cyber bullying on their website.

Like Mick says though, they tried to set me up but in the eyes of the Jersey Press I am not even news to them. Neither connected to the States, Civil Service, Police, Media, Law Offices, nothing. Not even a member of any pressure groups and why I was painted up as something big in this Government from the beginning has been a mystery even to my Lawyers. Apart from that, 3rd party phone calls are inadmissible as evidence and I always suspected Neil would do something like this anyway, hence the reason I made stuff up.
I had several messages last year saying that people were disgusted at what they had done but at least unregulated citizens media has shown its true colours. The Police also told me to ignore them as it was clear to them why they had done this with their association with a certain ex Senator and Deputy. They monitor these blogs all the time and know they have a knack of trying to harass people but come on, me news? This so called troll they keep on insulting and trying to set up?

But you have to laugh, if Higgins believes bullshit about me or anybody else being almighty powerful and above the law like he hinted yesterday then you can argue he will believe anything!

  8. "Apart from that, 3rd party phone calls are I admissible as evidence"

Jon may wish to double check that. He's on to a loser if he thinks people (as opposed to businesses for which the law is different) aren't allowed to record phone calls.

  9. A great piece of satire. Amusingly putting across very disturbing truths. I also have to comment on the reported comments of Jonny the Troll. As one of Jonny's many victims I can tell readers that though he may live in cloud cuckoo land denial the police have complaints from a significant number of these on file. Okay so nothing may be done why Gameshow Mike is in charge but eventually, when professional policing is restored to the island the truth will finally out. What is for sure is that this horrible bully and maker of threats to women is monitored to this day.

  10. Lord Adolf Coutanche the Tenth25 January 2015 at 13:55

Plotting to carry out violence against people most definitely IS an offence and bragging about it in hours of recorded phonecalls is plain thick. This man needs certifying for his own benefit. Yissss!

  11. Is the Lord Reggie related to the Constable of St. Brelade? Something about them seems very similar. Do they both get angry perhaps?

This is all old news. Nobody is interested. Nobody even reads this stuff or this blog. Anyone who comments on here must be a troll. I would never read this blog let alone comment on it. I am far too busy trying to remember who I am pretending to be today. Get a life. Blogs are dead. It says so all over the intranet.

    1. What a hero & great bloke that commenter is. Just saying the truth. You dick-heads just can't take it when a strong brave guy stands up to you. He's representing the ordinary silent majority, who, like my really good friends and heroes of the community of Jersey, people like Emma, Phil, Sean, Bill, Tim, Phil, Bridget, Ben, Mick, Julian and Appleby Global and everyone else who, with only their bravery and millions of pounds of tax-payers money, will stand up to you cyber-bullying irrelevant old-news barstards who want to harass and slander patriotic traditional Jersey child-abusers. You live in your own little world so you don't get that Stella is the libation of our proud island culture. Maybe you'll begins to understand once your bitches of wives have been sacked and my really good mates in the Jersey police force have come around and kicked your heads in.

      NOT Jon

  14. So much for positive change at the Filthy Rag under their new editor. Instead of bravely telling their reader the truth about the psychopathic cyber bully protected by Jersey's Attorney Generals and police they have yet another trawl through Nick Le Cornu's heinous, stupid but undeniably one-off Tweet. Isn't it bad enough this excuse for an editor and newspaper has been playing along with the establishment's propaganda trying to distract from the true cyber abuse carried out on victims by the local trolls (regularly found talking to themselves on PJWFS with garbage about the quite different problem of on line cyber scams/crime. No wonder they had to put up the price to try and fill the gap of plummeting sales! But thank the Lord for this blog.
