#Panodrama - An Exposé of the Fake News BBC!

This is a must watch video/documentary of how the "elite" BBC and mainstream media conduct their business. It (the documentary) will come as no surprise to those who have been reading the local Jersey Blogs since 2007/8 during Operation Rectangle and the trashing of the names (by the MSM and Establishment) of those who have tried to protect children in Jersey.

The documentary appears to expose homophobia, racism, elitism, bias, classism, blackmail (and much more) by the BBC and its associates.

You won't have seen, or be seeing, this documentary in the mainstream media and after you have watched it you will know why.

  1. Why be surprised at this damning documentary? Most readers will now know the way the corporate spiv world works if they have been with you and the likes of Syvret, Pitman, Hill and co long. As another little insight to the real world maybe consider that, only published by the Morning Star in Britain, America's former FBI Chief has told how President Donald Trump was demanding to know more than two years ago "why, I don't understand it, we aren't at ear with Venuesuala? They have all the oil we need and their in our backyard!" Not one mainstream UK or US as far as I know MSM has reported this. Instead pumping out the same anti-left fake news. No fan of the incompetent Maduro but this, like your documentary above says so much. Like Orwell wrote he who controls the media controls the world.

    3. You appear to be under the impression that the BBC will hold John Sweeney to account and possibly fire him? You should know that the BBC don't hold its own to account, Jimmy Savile being a case in point. Here's an example of the BBC refusing to hold one of its own to account a little closer to HOME.

Neither Sweeney, nor the BBC, will be accountable for this scandal. The entire MSM are protecting the BBC which in turn protects the discredited and disgraced MSM as a whole. They all look after each other.

    4. No VFC, but I thought it might be fun to contemplate

The BBC will not discipline or fire John Sweeney unless they have to.
Let's face it, it is unlikely that the rot and the agenda stops with John Sweeney.

I was surprised not to see an appropriate reference to this scandal on his Wiki page:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sweeney_(journalist)

There is mention of Panodrama and John Sweeney on Tommy Robinso's page
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Robinson_(activist)

      which ends
BBC announcement added: "Some of the footage which has been released was recorded without our knowledge during this investigation and John Sweeney made some offensive and inappropriate remarks, for which he apologises."

Funny, I did not see John Sweeney apologising on the film, I saw him denying or defending his racist remarks.
      Hilarious!

    And this:

Mr Hardwick was appointed on an interim basis by States chief executive Charlie Parker as part of an initial four-strong team – dubbed ‘Charlie’s Angels’ – to help re-shape the Island’s civil service. 2. Thus far Sam has been something of a disappointment. He appears to have been played by the establishment at every juncture
      -The gerrymandered Bailhache referendum
      -The Liar Lewis proposition
      -The silent minister

Despite retaining his "radicalism" Syvret succeeded in being a "team player" for a good number of years as Health Minister etc until that day he highlighted Jersey's systemic child abuse problem and had to be terminated by the combined might of the establishment and the JEPeado.

Sam appears rather shy of touching the "third rail" of Jersey child abuse. It is rather unfortunate therefore, that he accepted the position of "Children's Minister".

Like so many (on either the right or the left) I suspect that Sam will put real child protection aside if it advances his other agenda, like the ironic fantasy of a socialist paradise ....in a tax haven!

    4. Hi @09:33 The apparent assimilation of Sam Mezec is an appropriate subject for discussion on this blogsite.

Yes I watched the documentary yesterday and have already made initial comment on it yesterday @13:13 "I am John Sweeney, *formerly* of the BBC"

If the BBC/Panorama are to retain any credibility after this, John Sweeney has to go. I have little confidence that will happen. It is quite likely that he was instructed to do a hit piece and 'was only following orders'.

There may be another reason for John Sweeney not going -Tommy Robinson claims to also have recordings of John Sweeney bragging that the BBC cannot get rid of him because he has dirt on them!!!

It is quite extraordinary that Lucy Brown was able to get so much compromising material on John Sweeney in one three hour sitting, pitted against the experience and resources of the BBC.

Clearly VFC is showing little support for John Sweeney LOL
VFC's blog on "#Panodrama" does not necessarily indicate any support for Tommy Robinson.

#Panodrama is a significant news item which the mainstream media are refusing to confront.

Tommy Robinson / Stephen Yaxley-Lennon is an easy man to dislike. I particularly dislike his rabble rousing but I understand that this is likely the manifestation of a working class "Millwall" approach. The concerns he raises are however real and have been getting worse over the last 3 decades and it is people from his community who have paid the bulk of the price.

There is no shortage of material on Robinson ranting and railing but it is a foolish person who entirely dismisses the facts and real concerns behind his rants.

Racism is part of the human condition, a manifestation of the deeply tribal nature of us humans. Racism is a spectrum condition and we are all on that spectrum no matter what our colour or creed. The few who are truly "colour blind" are now defined as "racist" by some of the extreme positive discrimination / Antifa types.

Where you judge John Sweeney and Tommy Robinson to be on that spectrum depends rather on your definition of racism.

Tommy Robinson is certainly opposed to mass immigration. There is a growing consensus that multiculturalism has failed and that immigration levels should never have exceeded the host communities ability to assimilate. Certain religions apparently forbid integration so the problems may take generations to solve …...if ever!
Opposition to mass immigration can morph all too easily into actual racism.

If it were a real word it might be appropriate to describe Robinson as an Islamophobe -but a phobia by definition is an *irrational* aversion. I fear that it may be more accurate to describe Robinson as an Islamo-realist. There is a sufficient proportion of British Muslims who have illiberal or hateful views for this to be a major cause for concern. They need to put their house in order if they are going to cohabit peacefully in western liberal democracies.

      Delete
    5. @21:26

Home-grown bigots like Tommy Robinson are much more of a concern than bigoted British Muslims, if we’re talking about a threat to “western liberal democracy”. I’ve never actually believed in “western liberal democracy”, or any version thereof - it’s wasteful and sells out real people to globalists and the rich and powerful every single time - but if you’re looking for a threat to it, British Muslims are not that. They’re a relatively insular community, like Haredi Jews (and I don’t see you making the same noise about integration where the Jews are concerned) - they aren’t really bothered about your “western liberal democracy” as long as they aren’t intruded on. Tommy Robinson and his supporters are mainly white British Christians who want to burn your lovely little liberal democracy to the ground.

      Delete
    6. Couldn’t agree more although Robinson himself doesn’t scare me .... what scares me is that people not only listen to his convoluted world view but that they are drawn in by it. Reminds me of Enoch Powell ... remember his Rivers of Blood speech ... and Adolf Hitler’s pre WW2 rally speeches.

      Delete
    7. I may get to 20:39's apparent comi-tragic denial of the existence of "political Islam" later.
Also the glib off-hand dismissal of "relatively insular communities" as if ghettos from the most violent, divisive and backward parts of the globe do not present issues for the host community or for "low ranking" people within those communities -like females, or "kafirs" who are often considered a lower form of human -if that.

@03:26 There are valid criticisms of Enoch Powell's 1968 speech which appears to have been greeted with a mixed bag of popular approval and media / political outrage.

Enoch Powell appears to have been right in some respects -I would say more right in his predictions based on religion than on race. (racial integration is vastly slowed by internal resistance to religious integration)

      From the Wikipepidia page:
      "...Thirty years after the speech, Edward Heath {who sacked Powell for the speech} said that Powell's remarks on the "economic burden of immigration" had been "not without prescience". {that means FORSIGHT !! btw}

The Labour Party MP Michael Foot remarked to a reporter that it was "tragic" that this "outstanding personality" had been widely misunderstood as predicting actual bloodshed in Britain, when in fact he had used the Aeneid quotation merely to communicate his own sense of foreboding.[57]

In November 2007, Nigel Hastilow resigned as Conservative candidate for Halesowen and Rowley Regis after he wrote an article in the Wolverhampton Express & Star that included the statement: "Enoch, once MP for Wolverhampton South-West, was sacked from the Conservative front bench and marginalised politically for his 1968 'Rivers of Blood' speech, warning that uncontrolled immigration would change Britain irrevocably. He was right and immigration has changed the face of Britain dramatically."[58][59]

In January 2014, UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage, after being told during an interview that a statement just read to him had come from Powell's speech, said: "Well what he was warning about was the large influx of people into an area, that change an area beyond recognition, there is tension – the basic principle is right."[60] In June of that year, in response to an Islamist plot to infiltrate schools in Birmingham, Conservative peer and former minister Norman Tebbit wrote in The Daily Telegraph, "No one should have been surprised at what was going on in schools in Birmingham. It is precisely what I was talking about over 20 years ago and Enoch Powell was warning against long before that. We have imported far too many immigrants who have come here not to live in our society, but to replicate here the society of their homelands."[61] Conservative MP Gerald Howarth said on the same issue, "Clearly, the arrival of so many people of non-Christian faith has presented a challenge, as so many of us, including the late Enoch Powell, warned decades ago. ..."

Michael Foot did not live to see it but there has been "actual bloodshed" on British streets -Lee Rigby decapitated -7/7 tube and bus bombings -Kids and their parents at the Ariana Grande concert etc. etc. These acts were not perpetrated by Haredi Jews and no doubt you will be able to explain how these atrocities were in fact our fault -or "justified" as the ISIL bride recently suggested.

How many times has Nigel Farage been branded a "racist" -a "fascist" -a "Nazi" ?
These insults loose all impact and meaning when they are used like confetti in in the crass attempt to discuss real issues.
Further they are worthless slurs if there is no evidence to back them up.

It is clear that Yaxley-Lennon is no angel and it is easy to be put off by his "working class" style but it is long overdue to confront the points he and other raise.

This remains the case even if they are able to get some real dirt on Yaxley-Lennon. We will see -this Panorama farce suggests that they are scraping through the bottom of the barrel.

      "Ghettos"?

      "backward"?

People like you are the reason disaffected young Muslims turn towards Islamism as a means to solve their problems. Tommy Robinson is hardly helping matters in that regard.

Engaging with British Muslims, cutting ties with imperialist, Islamofascist states like Saudi Arabia and shutting down Wahabist mosques are the appropriate response to tragedies like the Manchester bombing. Referring to the Middle East as "backward" is not, particularly when huge amounts of said "backwardness" are due to Western interventions. Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria - are you beginning to see a pattern yet? Western powers can't abide the idea of a socialist government in the Middle East which refuses to be told what to do by the CIA. They deposed Mossadegh, they murdered Saddam, they murdered Gaddafi, they tried to depose Assad - every single time, Islamists stepped in to fill the power vacuum. Result? Genocide of Yazidis and Assyrians, the return of black slavery in Libya, chemical attacks by the White Helmets, the invasion of Syria by Turkey, the near-capture of Baghdad by Islamic State, and, far more important for us than any of that, a flood of millions of Muslims straight into Western Europe, some of whom will obviously have grievances, justified or not, against the West. You take disaffected young British Muslims who have seen their countries bombed and destroyed, introduce them to Abdul bin-Jihadi, teach them a few tricks and suddenly a bunch of kids have been blown up in Manchester.

If we had been nearly as hostile towards Israel as we have towards Muslim countries, Jews would be doing the same, and worse, for they know what persecution feels like more than most.

Yaxley-Lennon's style is not the style of a "working class" person, it is the style of a shameless crook attempting to blame the vast majority of peaceful (if a bit illiberal) British Muslims for the acts of a few people who have been radicalised principally by the West's reckless foreign policy and the idiotic attitudes of people like you.

On a final note, the idea that anyone needs "dirt" on S Y-L is ridiculous. The man is a convicted fraudster, with a rap sheet including such diverse convictions as ABH, assaulting a police officer, rioting, passport and mortgage fraud, and two counts of contempt of court. The mere fact that he's a repeat criminal who routinely shows no respect for the same laws he accuses Muslims of defying is enough to debunk his nonsense in and of itself.

He's not much more than Britain's most successful attention-seeker.

    2. These are the words of establishment spooks.

'Frankly I couldn't give a rats arse whether the BBC makes things up because like the Sun newspaper I ignore it.'

It matters hugely that the BBC and The Sun publish biased stories, propaganda, lies, and cover things up. Because that general week in and week out regular opinion-management does have a massive influence on the great majority of people. It hypnotises us, misleads us, numbs us, it limits and forms the amount and type of information we receive. Science shows just how easy it is to influence people, in spite of our individual vanities that 'we don't fall for it'. We do.

There is nothing the establishment would like more, than for us to be indifferent to the constant 'conditioning' we are exposed to by the powerful's MSM.

We need to do the opposite of being indifferent of such corruption if we want to have real democracy. We need to support each other in constantly challenging and raising awareness of MSM corruption. Because the MSM always, all of it no matter that it may seem to carry different positions, is always in the control of the rich, the powerful, and frequently the rich and powerful.

I'm surprised people appear to be siding with John Sweeney and are attacking Tommy Robinson. It's the tactics used by the BBC and its associates and of course the apparent racism, homophobia, classism, elitism, alleged blackmail, scripting of interviews etc that I thought would be abhorrent to readers/BBC license fee payers.

No doubt when/if the BBC/Panorama publish its Documentary "Tommy Take Down" Tommy Robinson will be getting a kicking. It seems to me that the tactics employed by BBC and its associates are acceptable to some which is quite concerning.

    2. If we are going to have a productive and adult conversation, it is essential that we judge everybody by the same standards.
John Sweeney's racism (and all his other indiscretions offered in a mere 3 hour[!] timeslot) are nasty and unbecoming but *may* be of a relatively low level. They probably are sufficient for his position at a broadcaster of the stature of the BBC to become untenable. If our standards are right they are universal. Targeted standards are false standards.

Putting aside the indiscretions, John Sweeney's unprofessionalism has sunk his career unless he does indeed have savilesque or similar dirt on the BBC.

The evidence against John Sweeney is not circumstantial, it is literally from the donkey's mouth!
Tommy Robinson may be a racist". There is circumstantial evidence that he is and also circumstantial evidence that he is not. The onus is on those making the allegation to provide the evidence. If it really is as self evident as they claim then providing that evidence should be easy.

Aspects of TR's style makes me cringe, but in fairness he is a product of his upbringing and circumstance. He was a working class lad who did not benefit from an expensive or even a university education. TR's roots and upbringing would be small mitigating circumstance if he were caught displaying John Sweeney levels of racism (homophobia, classism, elitism etc).
At the very least, those condemning him would need to cut him the same slack as they have already apparently shown the educated and privileged John Sweeney.

There is years of footage of TR so damning evidence of "true racism" should be easy to find and merely relying on the media's portrayal of him looks increasingly weak, particularly in the light of these "Panodrama" revelations.

Man up and provide the evidence. A couple of nutters in a crowd is evidence of what is in their head only. Some have allegedly even taken to giving fascists salutes to the fascists in Antifa (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_theory ) just to wind them up -this might seem fun but would be counterproductive.

@09:16 -With the exception of John Sweeney's behaviour I do not see any " "racism on here".

The accusation of racism where there is none is one of the factors (according to Labour MP Sarah Champion) in allowing an estimated million underaged girls in the UK to be variously groomed, raped and prostituted over several decades by predominantly Islamic gangs.

These things are variously fact and informed opinion.
If you take the view that campaigning against these things or that opposing mass immigration beyond capability to integrate, is "racist" -then I am proud to be called a racist.
I would not be proud to be John Sweeney who has proved himself to be an actual racist (and a bigot and a hypocrite).

  13. I disagree with the various apologias for Neil Yaxley-Lennon (who prefers to peddle his trade of hate under the nom de guerre 'Tommy Robinson') which appear above.

I'm surprised at the lack of sophistication - and apparent ignorance of history - some otherwise articulate contributors here seem to display. I suspect they understand full well just how easy it is for a spark to ignite a raging inferno - an inferno which literally ends with human beings - men, women - children - dying - burning - in organised factories of death.

That is why we must - axiomatically - oppose all those with 'messages' of hate - of division - of tribal fear and distrust towards entire categories of human beings. There are certainly to be found around the world in all traditions some illiberal and anti-intellectual customs of thought. Sometimes the powerful, or merely influential, in such environments take advantage of insularities and suspicions and build 'careers' upon foundations of division.

Apologists for Yaxley-Lennon are making the profound error of failing to see that his methodologies are no different - essentially no different at all - to the easy methodologies and narratives of hate employed by Islamist extremists who recruit and enable, that percentage of people to be found in all societies, who are nihilistic psychopaths.

Anyone - anyone - coming to us with a message of hate is - fundamentally - an enemy of the safety of children.

Having made those points, I have to say I agree with the following: -

"John Sweeney's racism (and all his other indiscretions offered in a mere 3 hour[!] timeslot) are nasty and unbecoming but *may* be of a relatively low level. They probably are sufficient for his position at a broadcaster of the stature of the BBC to become untenable. If our standards are right they are universal. Targeted standards are false standards.

Putting aside the indiscretions, John Sweeney's unprofessionalism has sunk his career unless he does indeed have savilesque or similar dirt on the BBC."

The conduct of John Sweeney - who I have met and spoken with in the past - is indeed disgraceful in the footage.

As is that of the BBC. Disgraceful.

Being filled with - and exhibiting - the very bigotries you purport to oppose - working hand-in-glove with a partisan political organisation (Hope not Hate, an organisation I happen to support, but that's not a task the BBC should be doing) - shielding an alleged sexual assault - something which could have become a rape - because the alleged attacker happened to be 'on-the-same-side' as the BBC - frankly embezzling licence payers money on drunken, solipsistic benders - telling a potentially vulnerable interviewee what they should say - priming a witness to exaggerate and embellish things - trying to get the witness to state outright falsehoods - placing pressure on the witness to try to make her invent false accusations of sexual assault (fundamentally an act of direct sabotage of the credibility of real, actual victims) - failing to fact-check the bonafides of purported evidence - and evidencedly seeking to bring to a world-wide audience of the respected BBC Panorama 'journalism' which had manipulated a vulnerable witness into making false accusations of sexual abuse.

    And this is THE BBC.

Trying to manufacture a false case against a man who is quiet seedy and odious enough on the facts to be easily exposed as a con-man & grifter of the hate-industry, was as staggeringly incompetent as it was terminally unethical - and potentially catastrophic to the standing of the BBC as a world media organisation.

Foulness, hostility, hate and fear - must be opposed with empathy - and truth. That is a path not compatible with the 'noble-cause-corruption' we've just witnessed the BBC engaging in.

    1. Well Stuart. Others may disagree but IMO you are a giant of child protection, civil protection, Jersey politics, morality even...…. etc etc.
I accept your chastisement with good grace as I have done before and will do again.

"...a spark to ignite a raging inferno" - indeed, a truly, truly frightening prospect.

I hope and believe we a long, long way from any such "inferno" but "sparks" happen -they are unavoidable, whether in the form of a rabble rouser like Yaxley-Lennon or an atrocity like 7/7 or 'god forbid' a UK 9/11
We are not made safe from the "inferno" merely by snuffing out the spark of the moment -be it Yaxley-Lennon or the Cologne sex attacks etc. Attempts to swamp out those "sparks" and indeed others, makes the danger worse.

Yes, counter the "sparks" in a just and responsible manner but recognise that real safety lies in dealing properly with the "tinder box" …….or "powder keg".

Sparks are trivial if there is not a powder-keg. The challenge is to deal with the powder-keg.
Even uneducated working class folk are not stupid. They understand the basic human concepts of fairness, liberty and reciprocity. They know when something is wrong even if they may not all be able to put it into pretty university level words.

The traditional working class feels ignored and has disproportionally paid the price of high levels of immigration and Yaxley-Lennon voices their interests, identity and concerns and speaks their language.

This point about us all being judged by the same standards is absolutely crucial. More on this later.

"I'm surprised at the lack of sophistication - and apparent ignorance of history - some otherwise articulate contributors here seem to display. I suspect they understand full well just how easy it is for a spark to ignite a raging inferno - an inferno which literally ends with human beings - men, women - children - dying - burning - in organised factories of death. "

I too am surprised at the lack of sophistication.
Death is death -The location and structure of the "factory of death" and the ideological motivation behind the industrialised death does not change the death. Auschwitz, the Gulags, the Killing Fields, the religio-ethnic purges -they are ultimately all the same except in the detail.

"apparent ignorance of history" is no less dangerous that fixation on one particular part. World history is bigger than European history and the national socialists are way behind in the body count.

The world is a dangerous place and there are quite daunting negotiations ahead of us. For instance, how does liberalism negotiate with the "unchangeable word of god" -and given that it is "unchangeable" -how can any successes in negotiation be considered as anything other than tactical and therefore temporary.

Recalling your ignorance of European history... "I hold in my hand a piece of paper ……" you know the rest and the dangers of appeasement of fascists.

  14. A few weeks ago a reader posted about excellent journalism being regularly found in the Morning Star. On the subject of Fake News I too can strongly recommend your readers check out this week's exposure by the excellent John Pilger in the paper on the Trump-led misrepresentation of the situation in Venezuela. The famous Carter Centre as some will know long reported that far from a corrupt dictatorship the electoral system implemented under the late Hugo Chavez was found to be the best out of 92 countries the organisation monitored! Even under the much maligned Maduro Pilger reports how speaking to a rep of the 150 international monitors for Maduro's apparently rigged (according to the US and it's lackies) they observed absolutely zero fraud much to their surprise. Obviously I am quite sure this Fake News could have nothing to do with the vast oil the US want. Or in the case of the UK Tory press another chance to try and mispresent and smear the rarity of a truly socialist Labour leader. Not sure if the Pilger piece is in line but it really is an eye opener from a true journalist.

I tracked down the Pilger article and it is worth noting he points out how this 'dictator' (words of the Tories and the Daily Express comic) fought and won a world record of fully monitored elections. Odd isn't it that the only local public figure I ever recall lauding Chavez against the right-wing msm smears was the equally brave Trevor Pitman. Revolution in Greed Central Jersey? No thanks. 15. What about Martin McGinnis being John Sweeney's political hero, I mean what does that say about the man and the BBC he represents? What about spending £220 on a buzy lunch plying a vulnerable woman with alcohol so she will say what he tells her to say for the documentary? There are families struggling to make ends meet - having to make decisions like whether to eat or heat - but forced to pay £155 for a TV licence or go to court and rack up more expense. How much contempt has John Sweeney got for the licence fee payer when he is spending their hard earned cash on fancy cocktails let alone broadcasting fake news and worshipping people like Martin McGinnis?

  16. Labour wants Tommy Robinson removed from YouTube.

'Tommy Robinson should be banned from YouTube “as a matter of utmost urgency”, says Labour deputy leader Tom Watson.

The EDL founder was removed from Facebook and Instagram on Tuesday for violating their policies on “organised hate” and the targetting of Muslims.

He responded by posting videos to Youtube – the only major social media platform he can still use – claiming he was the victim of censorship.

In a letter to Google chief executive Sundar Pichai on Friday, Mr Watson described Robinson – real name Stephen Yaxley Lennon – as a “violent, racist, Islamophobic campaigner”.

He wrote: “I am now writing to implore you as a matter of utmost urgency to follow the lead that has been, belatedly, set by Facebook, and remove forthwith all ‘Tommy Robinson’ and related pages from your YouTube platform.”

Labour are now a new party of Neo-Marxists and trendy SJWs and they have abandoned their traditional working class power base -or at worst actually betrayed some of the least privileged people in the country with the blunt instruments of "White Privilege" dogma and globalist Europhilia.

The traditional working class value truth and straight talking and feel censored by the current extremes of political correctness. They see their communities and values in tatters and they see nationalism and Brexit as the corrective medicine.

Due to basic electoral mathematics Labour cannot win an election without their traditional core supporters and risk becoming a metropolitan party. Their core supporters feel better represented by UKIP and people like Tommy Robinson.

Labour are rightly terrified. The cat is out of the bag and Labour being seen as an active participant in "Tommy Takedown" and further censorship may yet do them more harm than good.

How is it possible that the above comment, which goes further than being unashamedly apologist by actually promoting the bigotry and the hate-based and racist ideology of tommy robinson, when my comments, as a caring, liberal and progressive thinking person, which have been deeply critical of everything that tommy robinson stands for, have been censored.

    4. As the person who left the comment which so offends your sensitivities, I shall offer you some advice @12:51

VFC is "on the right side of this issue". This issue is not the merits or otherwise of TR and I do not even know what VFC's personal opinions are on TR. Tommy Robinson is a sideshow. The issue is truth, honesty and free speech.
VFC is a strong believer in free speech and truth and whenever possible airs all reasonable intelligent opinions. VFC sets the bar pretty low but you need to check your comments against VFC's basic standards of "truth", "reasonableness" and "intelligence".

Were you perhaps gratuitously rude or insulting and did you say or even SHOUT nasty words?

VFC likes to give people the benefit of the doubt because "truth" may be something we search for but none of us have it all the time or even know it when it is presented to them on a plate.

Bizarrely those who have been indoctrinated in postmodern theory do not even consider "truth" to be a relevant concept and see society as a battleground for power between 'identity groups'. Little wonder that the divisions are becoming so deep, nasty and dangerous. Is this progress? and was it achieved with the help of "caring, liberal and thinking" people like you???

This may be your own assessment of your many public virtues, but if your comments appear merely to be shouting down other commenters with hateful words and unsubstantiated claims then you are probably uncaring, illiberal, unthinking. Perhaps even all of those things.

I find that (in the interest of free speech) VFC sets the bar pretty low. Your 12:51 comment is a case in point.
"the bigotry and the hate-based and racist ideology of tommy robinson"

Caring, liberal and thinking readers would appreciate you providing evidence to back up those claims. Please ! How hard can it be?
This has been asked for many times and again we can set the bar pretty low …..say to the level of John Sweeney of the BBC, and it would the level of "hate" was more intense and more unreasonable than that directed against him. After all Tommy Robinson is just a working class lad from a disadvantaged background.

VFC sets the bar very low. If you take this advice it is very likely that your comments will be fit for publication.

So glad if I have been able to help in any way.

14:53 could have taken the advice offered at 14:13 but instead they plagiarised a good part of Stuart Syvret's comment (3March at 21:45)

I don't expect that 14:53 can do much more than another cut and paste but I would be interested in Ex Health Minister Syvret's thoughts on my response which is repeated below:

In "local negotiations" in European communities all we have achieved is compromising our most dearly held principles like the protection and equality of women and girls, the right to speak our minds without threat.

    1. Thank you for approaching the subject with an open mind @13:02

Yaxley-Lennon certainly has been a jerk on many occasions and his rallies can be quite cringeworthy. Politics meets football. Please no!

"Racist" and "Far Right" is the ongoing MSM narrative which mostly goes unchallenged but no one seems able to provide irrefutable evidence of these accusations. Is Yaxley-Lennon any more "racist" that the BBC staff?

If a left winger has concerns about mass immigration, or even thinks it should stop -does this make them "Far Right"?

Some of Yaxley-Lennon's past criminality is easily proven but some of it seems exaggerated. His recent *unlawful* imprisonment perhaps demonstrates this and should give us all cause for concern.

The BBC has indicated that the "Tommy Takedown" documentary is still going ahead but we will have to see if this is the case and indeed if they are able to come up with any new or damning evidence. If their documentary goes ahead it will need to be based on very watertight material or it will be treated with extreme scepticism, especially after the revelations in the Panodrama exposé.

Jerk or no-jerk, this is a major coup for Yaxley-Lennon. The only person who comes out of this well is the rather plucky Lucy Brown who stung John Sweeney and the BBC so comprehensively with nothing more than a smile and a buttonhole camera.

"Hope not Hate" also find themselves rather exposed.

    1. What about the hatred of child abuse, the hatred of paedophiles, the hatred of grooming gangs?
Hate is a strong motivating force and is healthy up to appoint. Hate can all too easily spread into violence and intimidation -this has been seen on the right but is currently more common on the far left. I do not support Tommy Robinson and nor does VFC, as he has made clear:
"I have never said that Tommy Robinson does not go over any line. I know very little about him, although I have learned a lot more since the Panodrama expose. I am not condoning, or otherwise anything he has or hasn’t done.

This 'panodrama' expose has now had about 1.5 million views. This and it's contents are not something to ignore or sweep under the carpet. The behaviour of the BBC is particularly pertinent to Jersey where the local BBC franchise was (amongst others) deeply involved in the non reporting of child abuse and after 2007 in the cover up and attacks on campaigners like Mr Syvret.

    2. All the cutting and pasting in the world will not change the fact that all ideologies founded in hate are to be opposed with unrelenting vigour and dignity, and all those showing support for, or being apologist of such hate based ideologies, have to be exposed and challenged. Hope must win over Hate every time, no matter how long and how hard the fight; and the way that the victory is achieved is as important as the victory itself. When the proponents of Hate go low, the proponents of Hope must go high.

      Delete
    3. I too a am delighted to co-sign a preference for hope not hate. To be meaningful (and more importantly, sustainable) our intolerance of hate must be applied with equity to all individuals and communities. Anything else is a recipe for resentment.

Where disrespect and hate are written into religious texts (for instance the Quranic guidance and instruction of the treatment of kafirs) it presents particular challenges. Hate does not stop being dangerous or become okay because it is religiously based. If anything it is more dangerous, particularly because it is "unchangeable" and therefore set for all time!

Fortunately at the moment most people take their religion with a pinch of salt. Their practicality and humanity exceeds their adherence to the instructions of their theological texts. A minority see the texts as absolute and attempt to live by them. We see this in fundamentalist variants of Christianity like the Amish. Critically these fundamentalist Christians rarely present a danger to others in modern times.

This is not the case with fundamentalist Islam. Islamic State was the manifestation of a literal interpretation of Islam. At the other end of the scale there are many modern Muslims who respect the beliefs and freedoms of others. A few have absolute respect and you could say, safely criticise the Quran or ware a T-shirt with a cartoon on it. These are secular Muslims and are in a minority.

The expression of liberal western values will engender various feelings and reactions of hate from Islamic communities on the various subject of gay rights, transgender rights, women's rights, and the rights of other minorities.

Islam is not a race or a colour but it can be said to be deeply 'racist' to not expect brown people to be capable of being held to the same standards as white people. Secular Muslim Maajid Nawaz describes this as "the Bigotry of Low Expectations" -that somehow Muslims or brown people are not capable of being held to the same standards!

Hope not Hate have a particular challenge in combatting these hateful attitudes because they have no real access to these communities. It is the preachers who l have the access and a good proportion of them hope for Sharia, complete with all it's hateful practices.

Some of these issues seem near unsurmountable. One of the human ways of dealing with unsurmountable issues is denial or ignore-ance in the hope they will somehow go away.

I have difficulty summoning sufficient hope. There are counter arguments but Tommy Robinson can certainly be described as a hateful figure but good part of his rise can be attributed to our tolerance of hate and illiberalism under cover of "the bigotry of low expectations".

I our expectations are right then they must be universal. No individuals or communities are entitled to a free pass.

A disaster at Social Security and now showing to be even worse than McClod and Ozone at the Treasury. But keep squeezing Deputy. Under its current formulation, the law would allow Mrs McMillan the ability to request information in line with the Freedom of Information Law, which limits the release of ‘personal information’.

It also means that any information released to her could be viewed and altered by the government’s Communications team if deemed to pose a reputational risk, as Express revealed last week.

“This Law as lodged in effect limits the extent of the obligation on relevant authorities to disclose information to the Children’s Commissioner,” she wrote.

...She added that the draft law “fails to deliver” on obligations imposed on the government in the wake of the damning Care Inquiry, which uncovered years of systemic abuse [but bizarrely NO COVER-UP !??] in island institutions, subsequently calling for “greater transparency and greater openness in communication… in order to tackle the perception of cover-up”...…

      www.bailiwickexpress.com/jsy/news/childrens-commissioner-faces-severe-investigation-blocks/#.XJjpLCj7TIU
      also states:

"Family Nursing and Home Care (FNHC), meanwhile, were in favour of the current proposals for the law underpinning the Children’s Commissioner’s role.
Adding that they already able to provide safeguarding information on request, the group, which is contracted to deliver significant child and family services on behalf of the Government of Jersey, said that the Commissioner’s ability to request information under the draft law was sufficient."

So, to repeat, the law as drafted gives the highly expensive Children’s Commissioner NO MORE POWER THAN AN NORMAL MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC TO ACESS CHILD PROTECTION INFORMATION.

FNHC management think that this is okay because they can act as gatekeepers to provide [or not] information the Children’s Commissioner needs.

Correct me if I am wrong but my recollection is that the head of FNHC is effectively a political appointee and therefore a political animal at a largely government funded charity.

Am I being unfair? - please help us out here.

    Please see:

A reader on VFC's above site highlights the following:

"Mrs McMillan says the Children's Minister has put forward an “entirely different version” of her instructions which is due to be voted on by the States Assembly.

This Law as lodged in effect limits the extent of the obligation on relevant authorities to disclose information to the Children’s Commissioner,.

….. the draft law “fails to deliver” on obligations imposed on the government in the wake of the damning Care Inquiry, which uncovered years of systemic abuse in island institutions, subsequently calling for “greater transparency and greater openness in communication… in order to tackle the perception of cover-up”

….Bruce Adamson, Scotland’s Children’s Commissioner, who, like other UK commissioners, is able to require “any person” to produce documents relevant to an investigation, described the law as leaving Mrs McMillan “with no more power to seek and receive information from public bodies than the average man or woman in the street”.

I suspect that this has been done on purpose as the Bailiff filters the propositions that are put forward in the States under the standing orders, thereby maintaining a political environment that is favourable to the suppression of crimes committed by Bailhache and his associates until such time as they are able to avoid the consequences of them by efluxion of time.

  46. Unfortunately Bailiwick Express did not contact me before producing their article, otherwise I would have had a chance to put my position forward, which would have saved a lot of concern here.

First things first, I have an excellent relationship with the Children's Commissioner and we have worked closely in the run up to producing this law. I share the concerns she has raised about Article 8.

As she states in her letter, earlier drafts of the law did include a much stronger article to define her powers of investigation. It was at the point of the draft law being shared with others to have their say that’s things were changed. Some of those changes were improvements (in my view), but some of them were not.

The law was not singlehandedly approved by me, but by the whole Council of Ministers.

I ensured that the Scrutiny panel was given early drafts of the law so they could track changes that were made. They spotted the change to Article 8 and are reviewing it.

When the law is proposed later today, Scrutiny will call it in and delay it until 30th April, during which time they will be able to bring amendments in line with what the Commissioner and others have suggested. So it will be down to the whole Assembly to decide, not just the Council of Ministers.

I will support anything that enhances her powers.

Fair enough. That sounds like an admission of joint responsibility. It is an understatement to say that this reflects poorly on the entire council of ministers ….and the primary focus will rightly be on yourself as supposedly the Minister for Children.

I was hoping to hear an explanation along the lines of: " I insisted that this important child protection legislation was made and maintained FIT FOR PURPOSE. This was the case until I saw the version (which was lodged by [insert name]) in which the functional parts had literally fallen off the page (perhaps due to a "clerical error" as was the case with Bob Hill's vital but omitted ToR to the Napier review!). On seeing the gerrymandered version, I immediately did ….A, ......B and maybe ….C and furthermore demanded an explanation and heads on plates as the lodging of this law would make my position as Children's Minister untenable!!!!

Why create the new role of children's Minister, on the back of a £24.000.000.00 spend of public money into the public inquiry that found that child abuse was prevalent, and apparently things are still not right in that department today, and then remove his authority to serve that office. I hope you are right Sam and that your still mysterious …..but fiendishly cunning plan of lodging a broken law has this effect.

The Assistant Minister copied the named employee into this email which is in breach of the Ministerial Code of Conduct.

The suspension will take effect immediately and will last until the end of the States sitting of the week beginning 20 May 2019.

      Chief Sinister,John Le Fondleboy states:
"This action is wholly inappropriate and is clearly harmful to the individual named. It is an action that in unworthy of a Minister, Assistant Minister or indeed any Member of the Assembly.
The Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture and I met with Deputy Tadier at 10.15 today, and informed him that, given the severity of the matter, we decided to suspend him as an Assistant Minister with immediate effect, and to request him to retract his comments and to apologise unreservedly.
The Assistant Minister’s suspension took effect immediately and will remain in place until the end of the States sitting of the week beginning 20 May 2019.
We have informed the Chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee of the States Assembly, and the Chairman of Reform Jersey."

    5. Perhaps Monty just 'blew the whistle' on time being up for Jersey democracy? Even allowing for the Jersey equivilent of 'Fergie time' - Bailhache time' - the end has to come some time.

    6. Lot of fuss about nothing. I'm sure I recall a former Deputy suggesting the whole Council of Ministers surely shared a bong each meeting so bizarre were so many of their decisions.

  55. Not been a great week for Reform Jersey.

Kicked off with the Children's Commissioner complaining about her powers.
Then they lost the Southern proposition to get money from the States current account for Teachers pay and today they have Monty suspended from his assistant Ministry.

    2. I don't know, things may be looking up for RJ with the suspension of Montford Tadier as assistant minister.
What are Monty's grounds for requiring a government employee sacked ?

It could be that he (and hence RJ) are actually doing their job?

    3. "It could be that he (and hence RJ) are actually doing their job?"

According to the news his actions could be regarded as constructive dismissal therefore leaving the States open to be sued. It is not good.

    4. The question is -that we will need to wait for an answer on …
….did Monty rashly jump the gun or was he left with no other productive option after Government or Civil Service (or even Police!) inaction?

Syvret did something similar in an courageous effort to protect the lives of vulnerable constituents. Lives were left at risk and are to this day.

Tadier is considerably more experienced than the Boy Mézec and we will have to wait for the truth to out. In the meantime everything else is empty crowing -perhaps from you-know-who and his Paedo-Trolling ilk.

The failure of government and the rule of law leaves both children and adults at risk.

If you have other information, please feel free to post it.

    5. Step back for a minute. This is what happens when you have a loose cannon.
If he had a problem he should have addressed it in the right manner and through the right channels. But when you are egotistic and you think you are immune and can do things the way you wish to then this is the result.
The employee he involved now, quite rightly has grounds for constructive dismisal should they wish. Potentially costing the states a small fortune. Regardless of the reasons why. This is constructive dismissal.
JLF for once has acted decisively.
In the private sector MT would be dismissed, its the only outcome possible to stop further action.
This is the challenge you have when you put people not capable or without the experience in to a job and then their ego takes over. He should be gone from the States totally in a very short period of time. You can not support this type of action regardless of the reasons.

    6. As far as I understand it, the employee was copied into the e-mail. Deputy Tadier did nothing other than voice his opinion to the employee and a couple of politicians.

    7. So you think his e-mail is acceptable?

    8. Having an opinion, and voicing that opinion to the person you have that opinion about (without hiding behind an anonymous profile), used to be the "acceptable" thing to do.

    9. Apparently Montfort Tadier's email was about the medical profession's refusal to prescribe medicinal cannabis.

From what little I know I think it is very unlikely that anyone is going to get sacked from their employment unless there is a real issue of clinical competence (again unlikely with the vagaries of medicinal cannabis).

If there is no dismissal there is no "constructive dismissal" and probably no real consequences (good or bad) to anyone other than Monty.

There may be a prejudice against medicinal cannabis because of it's recreational use and the potential welfare of youngsters and their mental development. Medicinal cannabis is appears a fringe area judging from the MHS site:
      www.nhs.uk/conditions/medical-cannabis/

      "...…..
Very few people in England are likely to get a prescription for medical cannabis.
Currently, it is only likely to be prescribed for the following conditions:
-children and adults with rare, severe forms of epilepsy
-adults with vomiting or nausea caused by chemotherapy
And it would only be considered when other treatments weren't suitable or hadn't helped.
      …….
      Long-term pain
There is some evidence medical cannabis can help certain types of pain, though this evidence is not yet strong enough to recommend it for pain relief.
      ……..
The main risks of THC cannabis products are:
-psychosis – there is evidence that regular cannabis use increases your risk of developing a psychotic illness such as schizophrenia
-dependency on the medicine – although scientists believe this risk is probably small when its use is controlled and monitored by a specialist doctor
      ………

After taking medical cannabis, it's possible to develop any of the following side effects:
      decreased appetite
      diarrhoea
      feeling sick
      greater weakness
      a behavioural or mood change
      dizziness
      feeling very tired
      feeling high
      hallucinations
      suicidal thoughts

      …….."

Monty may have specific patients in mind, for whom cannabis is known or claimed to benefit. How do they know? ;-)
I don't know the precise contents of Monty's email but pressurising medical professionals into a particular treatment may not be the way to go.

    2. Then again Sam does seem to have demonstrated excessive "flexibility" ….and possibly even total lack of spine in being tricked(?) into proposing the gerrymandered Children's Commissioner's Law!

Let's hope that Mézec's "cunning plan" works.

In Jersey the Dark Side's plans usually win the day ..and the year ...and the decade ….. Evil plans sometimes cunningly wrapped in fakery but usually being sickeningly transparent.

Gutless or naïve States Members bending to their will leaves the whole population at risk.

    3. Apparently Monty retracted the e-mail and has apologised profusely.
      Good man.

    4. How very "flexible" of him.
Emails cannot be retracted -when they are gone, they are gone.

We look forward to discovering the circumstances that would lead an elected representative and Assistant Minister to call for the dismissal of a "Government employee".

Will they really be able to keep it under wraps :-?

  57. Getting closer to topic

Yaxley Lennon co-authored a book on Islam and Mohammed's Quran. His co-author had previously researched and written a book on the Islamic grooming gangs in the UK

I expect howls of indignation from VFC's more 'sensitive' readers (for various reasons) but the below extract from "The River War" similarly contains both informed observations and chilling prophecies -all wrapped in the language of the 1890's:
"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia [rabies] in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of SLAVERY until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die: but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."

    1. For those who do not know the above extract "How dreadful are the curses ….." form the 1899 book "The River War" was written by none other than Winston Churchill.

      Anyways an update:
Mr Yaxley Lennon who's conviction for contempt was quashed on account of "structural unfairness" and other issues …...had just had a retrial and will be sentenced tomorrow. Here is his account of the bizarre situation: www.youtube.com/watch?v=agM7yqdOrK4&bpctr=1562795088
