The Propaganda Hour.

After the latest so-called "Hot Seat" programme broadcast on State Radio, Friday just gone, Team Voice were appalled at the inadequate questioning (again) of Jersey's Chief Minister Ian Gorst.

Every month the Chief Minister is invited on to the show supposedly to be challenged on his policies, actions, and in-actions, but the reality is, there is no challenge, and the programme is little more than a Party Political Broadcast for The Establishment Party, or according to the leader of Jersey's only political party REFORM JERSEY  Deputy SAM MEZEC A "propaganda Hour."

The Chief Minister is NOT joined on the show by any politician with alternative views or policies, he holds court, and listeners could be led to believe there are no alternatives to his policies including the Medium Term Financial Plan and the austerity measures being implemented by the government. How is this a balanced view for State Radio listeners? In the interest of fairness and balance the Chief Minister should be joined on the show by somebody/ANYBODY with an alternative view or a researched/challenging compare/host. Unfortunately the BBC looks to have adopted a policy where there can be no robust political debate and politicians/people with differing views cannot be live on-air together.

If the leader of the incumbent ruling party is afforded an hour-long show every month then the same should be offered to the only official opposition party but the BBC is resisting this.

VFC spoke with Deputy Sam Mezec (video below) about the continued BBC bias, the inadequacy of the "Hot Seat" (propaganda Hour) show and much more.

Team Voice has offered to fill the void left by the (un-challenging) State Media and offered to host an online live and interactive head-to-head debate with the Chief Minister and opposition party leader Deputy Sam Mezec. Deputy Mezec has agreed to the offer and we will be e-mailing the Chief Minister to invite him on "the show."

Details of the Chief Minister's response, and hopefully the show, will follow shortly.

A Witch Hunt............In The Public Interest? (2)

In part two of our exclusive, and in-depth interview, with former Deputy Trevor Pitman we discuss, among other topics, the decision to force him, and Mrs. Pitman, into bankruptcy.

Team Voice, the Pitman's, and many others can't see the sense behind it if this decision was made on a financial basis. If however it was made on a political basis then it makes a lot more sense.

As more, and more, people are coming to the conclusion that Jersey's "justice" system is politicised and corrupt readers/viewers might see merit in that argument after viewing the interview.

Alternatively it could be that making the Pitman's bankrupt and cutting off their income DOES make perfect financial sense and if this is the case then we would be very interested in finding out how/why?

Part one of this story, and interview, can be viewed HERE.

A Witch-Hunt.............In The Public Interest?

Due to the misinformation, and invasion of privacy, against Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Pitman broadcast by the local State Media recently. VFC has exclusively interviewed Mr. Pitman in an attempt to, once more, get the truth behind the propaganda. Furthermore to ask the questions the State Media could/should be asking if it did not have its own agenda which has been described as "A Witch-hunt" against those who speak out against the Jersey Establishment.

Readers/viewers might be aware that the Viscount (in an unprecedented move) has allowed the local State Media to publish/broadcast contents of the ( un-finalised) creditors claims against Mr. and Mrs. Pitman following their unsuccessful claim of defamation/libel against the Jersey Evening Post and Broadlands Estate Agents which saw the Pitman's made bankrupt. (more of that in part 2)

In part one of this exclusive, and in-depth, interview we discuss the misinformation being fed to us by the local State Media and hopefully, to some extent, we right its wrongs. We also attempt to discover the meaning of the term "in the public interest." One must bare in mind that Mr. and Mrs. Pitman are members of the public and an extremely dangerous precedent could have been set by the viscount where it would now appear that the public (in Jersey anyway) have no right to privacy (in the public interest).

Deputy Nick Le Cornu, and many others, have described this latest invasion of privacy, and State Media propaganda, as a witch-hunt against the Pitman's. Trevor Pitman sees it as a witch-hunt and it must be said that it is difficult to see it as anything else.

Part 2 coming soon................

Role Play.

After being black-listed for almost a year, the BBC finally allowed yours truly, on live radio this morning. Although not before I was interrogated by the show's producer, who also told me that Editor of BBC State Radio, Jon Gripton hasn't got a copy of the 62,000 word submission to the Wiltshire Constabulary written by the former Chief of Police Graham Power QPM. The very same document that was given to the editor by former Health Minister Stuart Syvret, apparently on the 22nd of September 2011.

So after my initial interrogation I was allowed on air where the mirror image of the Hillsborough disaster/cover-up, the Jersey Child Abuse atrocities/cover-up and the role played by the mainstream media in both cases was my chosen subject.

Who, or what arm of the "accredited" media, asked any questions of the party line during the Hillsborough tragedy? What part of the mainstream media championed the cause of the Hillsborough victims? Then ask the same questions of the mainstream media's role in the Jersey Child Abuse atrocity?

In 1989 there was not the Blogging fraternity that there is today and the public had to swallow what was fed to them by the mainstream media. Today things are different and documents are leaked to Bloggers (Jersey's only independent media) on a fairly regular basis, notably they are NOT leaked to the local State Media. This demonstrates a complete lack of trust when it comes to the State Media and a show of trust towards Bloggers.

We (Bloggers) have published these documents yet the silence of the mainstream media has been deafening who still just churn out the party line unquestioned no matter how absurd it is just like the Hillsborough propaganda.

The Lawrence family got to the truth and now the Hillsborough victims have got the truth. Those who have been complicit in the Jersey Child Abuse cover-up should be feeling very vulnerable right now because no matter how long it takes the TRUTH always comes out.

The eyes of the world are once more focussing on Jersey thanks to the courage of Deputy Trevor Pitman and U.S. Investigative Journalist Leah McGrath Goodman, please read/sign and share the petition HERE

In conclusion, although it might be another year before I am permitted back on BBC State radio I will leave you two questions when it comes to the Jersey Child Abuse cover-up.

What role have the media played?...................What role have YOU played?

VFC would like to credit, and thank, TJW for this recording.

BBC, Guns, Constables and Lenny Harper.

Just recently BBC Jersey and the rest of Jersey's State Media have been on a campaign, it would appear, to ensure the police force get their wish and are issued with Taser Guns. They also appear to be air-brushing former Deputy Chief Police Officer Lenny Harper out of the History Books in the process.

If memory serves correct it all started with the discredited, and disgraced, Jersey Evening Post (Jersey's only "news"paper) publishing statistics of gun ownership in Jersey. The equally discredited and disgraced BBC were quick to jump on the band-wagon and the scaremongering began. (or "Operation let's get the cops their taser guns").

The BBC started their propaganda scaremongering by making a big noise about the police fire-arms unit being called to an incident where somebody had been stabbed. The fire-arms unit, it has been reported, included officers armed with semi automatic rifles among other weapons.

The Roger Bara Breakfast Show was telling its listeners all about this stabbing and it wasn't long before people were phoning in talking about "knife culture" and what a number of us believe to be racist remarks from callers insinuating it (the knife culture) came from European Immigrants.

Regular readers will know that I am regularly prevented from taking part in the BBC's shows but did send in this e-mail (below) to the Roger Bara Show which was ignored.

"Roger.

It is unfortunate that the news reporting of yesterday's incident appears to have created a bit of hysteria about knives and knife culture. To the best of my knowledge the police have not reported what weapon was used yesterday. They have said somebody was stabbed and any number of items can be used in stabbings. Including screwdrivers, pens and pencils and the like. Considering the alleged victim was released from hospital, within an hour or two, one would suggest he was not stabbed with a knife, or if it was, he was stabbed very gently with a very small knife. You might want to make it clear to your listeners that the police have not said a knife was used?"(END).

Of course, it turned out that the guy was stabbed with a "screwdriver", not only that, despite the anti-european remarks from callers to the show, the perpetrator is allegedly from Liverpool. Not only that, but the police turned up armed to the teeth with semi automatic rifles and the like, for somebody armed with a screwdriver! Yet Roger, rather than read out the e-mail, was happy for his listeners to believe a knife had been used.

Then we had Matthew Price interviewing the Home Affairs Minister, Senator Ian Le Marquand, about the amount of guns on the island. Senator Le Marquand was defending the gun culture, and was also defending the Parish Constables. Matthew also interviewed gun enthusiast Derek Bernard who too was defending the gun culture and the Parish Constables. Both guests were telling us how responsible the Parish Constables are and this went un-challenged (what's new?) as there was no guest with an opposing view and Matthew Price appeared woefully ill researched.

The fact is Lenny Harper had brought up the subject ,of what appears to be an unhealthy cache of weapons, held by people on the island, which calls into question the logic, competence and judgment of the Parish Constables.

Lenny Harper was castigated by a number of politicians for attempting to get the gun culture under better control, yet Matthew didn't mention this on his show, so I sent in the e-mail below to help add some balance to, what was a very bias show, which had only interviewed two people, both (as mentioned earlier) defending the gun culture and Constables.

"Matthew.

This short piece from the sworn affidavit of former DCO Lenny Harper should demonstrate that what ILM had to say about guns being from collectors and there being robust checks and balances from the constables is complete poppy-cock.

"One man applied for a firearm and ammunition for the purpose of ‘pest control.’  The firearm in question is classified as for the purpose of hunting large game such as elk.
Another family in an outlying parish were known to have twenty
high powered and semi automatic weapons in a cellar on their property.  They also had thousands of rounds of ammunition.  When visited by SOJ Police officers they were also found to have six months supply of tinned food and bottled water.  They said they were waiting for word from God.  The Connetable refused to revoke the certificate.
One man whom we had found had built up an arsenal of weapons was first granted a certificate in 1985.  In 1992 he was convicted of Possessing a Prohibited weapon, supplying controlled drugs and other crimes.  In 1993 he tried to purchase a shotgun whilst prohibited by the law.  In 1995 intelligence was received that he was supplying controlled drugs.  In 1996 he applied for and was granted a new firearms certificate by the Connetable.  In 2006 he held the following weapons:

1 x .30 semi automatic carbine*
2 x  7.62 semi automatic rifles*
1 x 7.62 bolt action rifle
1 x  .303 bolt action rifle
1 x  5.56 semi automatic rifle* – as used the British Army
5 x .357 Magnum handguns
2 x  9x21 self loading pistol
1 x 9x19 semi automatic carbine* - similar to that used by the Police
1 x Pump action shotgun
2 x Semi automatic shotguns*
1 x .50 revolver **; and
1 x .50 rifle **

183,000 rounds of ammunition for the above weapons"(END)

Again this e-mail was ignored, not read out, it totally contradicted what Ian Le Marquand was saying. What right thinking, responsible Constable, is going to allow somebody to own a gun, for "pest control", when the gun is capable of, and used for, killing an Elk? A question that Matthew Price didn't want to ask his listeners. An alleged Drug Dealer granted a firearms licence, by a "responsible" Constable, that includes semi automatic shot-guns and rifles? A family armed to the teeth who said "they were waiting for the word from God?" Yet Matthew Price mentioned not a single word of it.

An e-mail exchange followed between myself and Editor of BBC Jersey Jon Gripton. He was asked why such a bias show was allowed to be aired and why my e-mail (that added balance) was not read out. He refused to answer the question(s) and has refused me permission to publish his e-mails.

Could it be that the truth is Lenny Harper has been totally vindicated on the stance he took with Jersey's gun culture but the State Media can't allow him to be seen as the good guy because he, (along with his team), was the one who exposed Jersey's Child Abuse Atrocities? Could it be the island's State Media are all "on message" to make sure the cops get their Taser guns? Why do the BBC keep their listeners so ignorant of the facts and evidence?

Readers are encouraged to read the sworn affidavit of Former DCO Harper which contains more revelations and statistics concerning guns. It contains much more besides that you won't be learning about from the State Media and can be read HERE

Readers are also encouraged to ask why BBC State Radio are happy to keep so much information from the public......including the submission to the Wiltshire Constabulary of Former Police Chief GRAHAM POWER QPM

Revisit the credibility of State Media

As the credibility of the BBC is once more being called into question surrounding the alleged duping of the public in the "Frozen Planet" episode recently screened concerning the baby Polar Bears. We thought this would be an ideal opportunity to revisit a Blog posting we published back in October last year (2010)

Of course there are any number of occasions that could be mentioned when it comes to the BBC allegedly duping the public, whether it be Panorama and the supposed sweat shops, the Blue Peter child being asked to pose as a competition winner, the Queen being edited to look like she was walking out of a photo shoot, when in fact she was walking IN. Again there are probably many more that could be mentioned, not least The Wiltshire Report, or as it is commonly known, the (discredited) prosecution case against Former Jersey Chief Police Officer Graham Power QPM.

The BBC, along with the rest of Jersey's State Media, published/broadcast/reported on this Wiltshire Report (prosecution case) quite extensively. The BBC has now been in possession of Mr. Power's 62,000 word submission to Wiltshire (the defence case) for TWO MONTHS and have not reported a single word of it. What are the chances that the BBC will be leaked anything again in Jersey? Haven't they got an obligation to tell both sides of a story? How can they expect trust and credibility? Why won't they report it?

"Leaks, Trust and Credibility Revisited" (October 2010)

After today’s announcement that Mike Bowron is the preferred choice of our Home Affairs Minister, Senator Ian (P9-26) Le Marquand, to be our next Chief Police Officer very serious and very probing questions need to be asked of our “accredited” media.

These questions should go right to the very top echelons of the BBC, ITV and the “Independent” Press Complaints Commission, or whoever it is that are tasked with the job of watching over the JEP .

The Home Affairs Minister’s announcement raises many, many questions to the credibility and trustworthiness of our “accredited” media. Regular Readers/viewers of this site will be aware that we were provided with information, not only to the identity of the new (subject to States approval) Chief Police Officer, but the alleged “cover story” that enabled David Warcup to secure his pension, that the selection process was just a PR exercise, Mr. Bowron was “the chosen one” before the selection process had even commenced and  It enabled him (David Warcup) to resign before the Napier report became public and thereby claim that he was leaving because of political and Blog criticism.

After doing everything we could to substantiate the information we were given, we decided to publish it HERE

NINE DAYS LATER the “accredited” media announce that Mike Bowron is “the chosen one”. It is a known fact that the “accredited” media read this Blog, and have in the past, used it as a source for their own news, but why not this story? So a few of the questions that need to be asked are “how long have they been in possession of this information?” How is it that they report it as “news” NINE DAYS after it appeared on here? Why wasn’t this information provided directly to them? And many more questions besides.

For now we’ll just concentrate on the “trustworthiness” of the “accredited” media, their credibility and that of Team Voice. If this information wasn’t given to the accredited media, then why not? Could it be that they could not be trusted with it? And Team Voice could? Let us just suppose they were provided with this information then we must ask, why didn’t they report it? Are they as “independent” as they claim to be? Were they “encouraged” by our powers that be to keep it under wraps? If so then how can they claim to be an independent media? Either scenario suggests that they cannot be trusted.

As for the credibility, we at Team Voice, believe ours has never been in question. That is because, to the best of our (somewhat limited in comparison to the “accredited” media) ability, we research the facts and rely on documentation to substantiate these facts. We do as best we can to only publish evidenced facts. By doing this and reporting “in-depth” on the more embarrassing (to our government) stories we have gained the trust of some very courageous, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and conscientious people from inside the very heart of our government/Civil Service. These contacts can not be thanked enough, they are taking a huge risk to their livelihoods, their pensions, mortgages and so forth in order to have the truth told. They are, along with the Abuse Survivors, the unsung heroes in this very dark period in Jersey’s History……But why are they not giving, or leaking, this information to the “accredited” and “independent” media?

Our source was right about the name of the successful candidate and it is reasonable to assume that they were also right about the other things in the same story. Or are we to assume that getting the name right was a lucky guess and the rest should be ignored? This is further evidence of how Ministers could be systematically lying to the public about these issues and how the "accredited” media are falling for it hook line and sinker, or are complicit in their party line and deliberately keeping the public ignorant. If Ministers are willing to lie and cover up about these things what else are they willing to lie/cover up about??   Can anything they say be trusted and can we believe anything the Jersey media repeats on their behalf?

It must be said that we (Team Voice) know little about Mr Bowron himself apart from what is available on the internet. From what we do know he appears to be a respected and capable officer and wish him well in his new position. However, his apparent (alleged) association with David Warcup and the "cover story" for Warcup’s departure is not a good start and we hope that Mr Bowron will take an early opportunity to assert his independence from the “untrustworthy?” political leadership of this island. We hope that he will strive to create a politically independent Police Force. We hope that he will also strive to rigorously pursue the perpetrators of Child Abuse and bring them to justice without fear or favour.

What (or who) must also be in serious question is the Home Affairs Minister Ian Le Marquand. Regular readers/viewers will be aware that he gave the Wiltshire Report to the “accredited” media before he gave it to his fellow States Members as we reported, with great thanks to Deputy Trevor Pitman, HERE, with a follow up
HERE

Despite all the promises made about keeping Members informed, he (ILM) has again failed to show respect to his colleagues. We have just checked the States website and there is no proposition lodged to appoint the next Chief Police Officer. Given the concerns about the Police Chiefs one would have hoped that ILM would have ensured that proper etiquette was followed and his fellow States Members wouldn’t have to learn about it through the “accredited” media…………..or on here!

The credibility, trust and independence of our “accredited” media are seriously in question. If any of it was in any doubt concerning Team Voice then this should now have been dispelled……………You heard it HERE  first.

Deputy Tadier Talks State Media (Part 1)

In our PREVIOUS POSTING we demonstrated how Jersey's State Media Report (OR NOT) the "News."

We carry on this theme, in an interview, with Jersey Politician Deputy Montfort Tadier who on a number of occasions has fallen victim to "Jersey Journalism."

In this frank, in-depth and exclusive interview the Deputy tells us of the latest piece of (at best) lazy "journalism" from Jersey's only "News"Paper The Jersey Evening Post. Something he himself has Blogged HERE.

Deputy Tadier tells us, among much more, he believes that "Reporters are working within an institutional Bias." He goes on to say "Bloggers completely change the dynamic" and wants "a level playing field" between the State Media and Bloggers when it comes to filming/reporting States and Scrutiny (Parliamentary Select Committee) Meetings and Hearings.
