Today the island's State Media (and independent media) were invited to the Royal Square in Jersey to witness, and hopefully report on, a make-shift version of a Clameur de Haro enacted by Jersey resident Sam Canon. Only Channel Television turned up from the State Media.
Mr. Canon tells us he "has nowhere left to go" after being another victim of the so-called Jersey "Justice" system. Out of sheer desperation, and after going through the "correct channels" for the past eight years felt the only option left to him was to drop to his knees, in the Royal Square, and plead for help, hoping somebody/anybody will highlight, and take notice of the cruel injustices he claims to have suffered at the hands of the Jersey courts/administration.
Mr. Canon's situation, as regular readers will be aware, is a very familiar one, where any injustices suffered at the hands of the so-called "justice" system will fall on deaf ears.
We have had a number of high profile cases of alleged judicial corruption highlighted over the past few years, whether it be the illegal suspension of the former Police Chief Graham Power QPM and subsequent Judicial Review and related matters, the alleged leaking of confidential police data by former SIO Mick Gradwell, secret court cases involving former Senator Stuart Syvret, alleged non Human Right Compliant case involving Deputies Trevor and Shona Pitman to name but a few.
In the coming days we will be listing/publishing an inventory of the abuses of justice Mr. Canon claims to have suffered in his eight year battle against, what is increasingly looking like, a corrupt, and not fit for purpose "justice" system.
In the meantime we ask readers/viewers to spend 50 seconds of their time watching the video below of a member of public being reduced to pleading on his knees, in a public forum, for some kind of help in order to get something that resembles justice on this Island? Is it time for the UK to fulfil its constitutional obligation and restore the RULE OF LAW?

Fantastic reporting only you forgot to mention anything about the case?
ReplyDeleteMr. Canon outlines some aspects of the case, to include, he has been “denied reporting crimes to the States of Jersey Police.”

Aaah, bent lawyers, bent judges, bent law society, bent cops, bent judicial process....What's new?
DeleteThe first step for redress is for him to get off his knee's, though I know why he was on them.
Second step is to stop begging (pleading) and start demanding.
Third step is a well crafted affidavit sworn by a Notary Public.
This case should be fun :) Long time no see Sammy boy! Hope to speak soon....
Sam is a very brave man. he felt he had nowhere left to go and this is why he took this drastic action. An action that just should not be necessary but is because the UK justice Minisstry will not do its job and make Jersey get its house in order. Well done VFC.
ReplyDeleteIncluded in the up-coming inventory.
ReplyDelete"• I have been refused my right to report crimes that took place during my trial, by the States of Jersey Police. I tried to report perjury, perverting the course of justice and theft.
• I have also tried to report these offences to the Attorney General and to the Home Affairs Minister – again all to no avail."
It's hardly a wonder that the crime rates are down is it?
A lot of people have been there, and it should be pointed out to Mr Canon that even when you win a case in Jersey you will not always get real justice, you stand to lose a lot if not everything.
ReplyDeleteOver many years our Police have refused to even investigate some crimes.
I reported a disgusting crime at P/H/Q in Jersey in 1970 that occurred around Easter that year, they refused point blank to look into it because a well known Cententier had committed the crime, I even slapped this man across the face in public and they refused to press charges against me because I would have come out with what he had done in open court and it was one of those brush it under the carpet jobs.
Perjury sat through one particular case that made me feel sick, in fact was witness to the truth as was my husband, a member of the then I.D.C lied his head off, and nothing was done even when my husband pointed out that the court was in fact in possession of photographic evidence supplied by the I.D.C themselves proving the fact, it was totally ignored by the Judge.
Let us just say that the UK Justice Ministry is not interested in doing its job, why would they when Jersey obviously does favours like doing drug dealers illegally through its courts, now I do not hold with drug dealing, but the law should be the law for one and all in my opinion, if you are going to do it do it right or do not do it at all.

ReplyDeleteCan you explain why the UK would be obliged to intervene in any of this?
Yes I can explain, but the fact that you have to ask suggests to me that I would be wasting my time so won't bother if it's all the same with you?

It's the lawyers, they are out of control. They work with each other all the time and divvy up the fees.
ReplyDeleteIts continiously happening on a daily basis, the courts can only deal with what teh defense and prosecution lawyers put in front of them , not saying teh courts are not the corrupt, we all know they are, but ive seen enough lawyers within the last year to see first hand how lawyers divvy up results of cases before they get to court.
All Jersey lawyers are corrupt, becasue they know that they can do what they want in the courts. They've got enough dirt on the Judiciary that thy know they can have practice how they want.
It was only last week we came across a case where a lawyer had told his client to plead guilty to an offence, which wasnt an offence. But when someone actually questioned him he stated " yes " its not an offence" !
so i looked at him as said , well what teh fuck are you telling your client to plead guilty to it.
He said, to save my client some money ! all he had to do is tell his client to plead not guilty and the prosecution would have had to offer no evidence !
So Lawyers/ Advocates are at the beginning of all the corruption, the court just allows them to do what they want.
Good on you VFC.
