Leah McGrath Goodman Returns to Jersey.

Previously banned US author and Investigative Journalist Leah McGrath Goodman arrived back in Jersey last night on a flight from Gatwick airport which touched down at 8:35pm.

Ms Goodman, as regular readers will be aware, was banned from the UK, and Jersey, after it became apparent she was investigating the decades of child abuse atrocities on the island as reported HERE. The controversial ban was lifted, after intervention from Jersey politician, Deputy Trevor Pitman, UK MP John Hemming and an ONLINE PETITION was signed by more than 3,600 supporters.

The US journalist, before arriving in the Island last night, had spent a number of days in the UK mainland where she met (for the first time) JOHN HEMMING MP at the Houses of Parliament and personally thanked him for his support in having her ban lifted and his continued support for the work she is undertaking in researching the child abuse atrocities and related matters. While in the mainland Ms Goodman also took the opportunity to meet with other UK MP's to discuss issues surrounding journalists being prevented from carrying out their work in the UK and we hope to bring readers a fuller report on this, and other issues in the coming days.

Team Voice welcome the return of Leah McGrath Goodman to the island and hope she is able to carry out her research without hindrance from those, in powerful positions, with something to hide.

Ms Goodman has agreed to an in-depth video recorded interview  which we will publish in the coming days.

  1. Did the petition help? Myself and friends who signed it would be pleased to know.

    1. As the organiser of the on-line petition I can say that YES it most definitely did help. It raised awareness and thus caused rightful embarrassment to those who preach 'democracy' but in reality have as little respect for this as they do 'justice' within the island.

  2. The petition was of great help where it highlighted the issue world-wide and thanks to all who signed.

  3. This is fantastic news and really hope Leah is allowed to get to the bottom of the cesspit of lies and cover-ups which have dragged the name of Jersey through the mud. Get everything out in the open so the island can rebuild it's reputation and begin to move onwards and upwards.

  4. Thanks for the well wishes and the support. It is wonderful to be back on the island. Thanks also to those who signed the petition. I very much missed Jersey.

  5. The "not for publication" comment. Agreed and done.

  6. I am hoping that Leah McGrath Goodman interviews the State Media not the other way round. The State Media have a lot to answer for in their reporting (or not) on the Child Abuse issues and related events. She might ask the BBC about promoting HATE-SITES

  7. After the Max Keiser Interview I am certain the MSM will be more keen to speak to her.
You couldn't make that one up could you?

    1. I’m quite sure LMG will be more than happy to be interviewed by the local State Media. Question is will the State Media be happy to answer her questions? Let’s hope that if the State Media do interview her that they don’t try and divert from the subject from the real issue of paedophilia to some (in comparison) trivial issue that has nothing to do with her research over here.

  10. Welcome back to 'The Asylum' Leah.

This place still needs cleaning up.

If the local bloggers and campaigners are the scrubbers , you are the soap.
    - I had to re-type that bit having put it the other way round :-O

If we clean properly then we only need to clean once.

But will soap, water and elbow grease be enough?
I have a feeling that our decades of covered up festering filth requires bleach.
The latest phases of cover up and your unprecedented banning only suggest that the rot goes deeper and wider than was reasonably imagined.

    The tide is turning.

    Power to your elbow,
    HIDS x.

  11. Look out for shedloads of anti comments from Jersey's resident fruitcake and Establishment party 50 center eg

Jon James Le Gallais Hilary Sue Young Julie Hanning Pete Drummond JTM Alan Gower Alan Marriott Tom Dick & Harry JTM Haywire etc.

To borrow words from the old Fun Boy Three song 'the lunatics have long taken over the Asylum' but is the time to step up our efforts to turf them out. Look out for some more faked letters in the Jersey Evening Pravda...

  12. Welcome back to the island Leah, and thank you for not washing your hands of us decent islanders who want the truth investigated by a respectable journalist who is not under the control of the MSM. Many others would have given up on us as soon as they were confronted by "The Jersey Way" I hope the sun shines on you whilst you are here and you see how many anti-establishment islanders are backing you.

  13. There are no anti-comments needed after her disastrous interview last time.
Some people are holding a lot of hope in a journalist who already has a lot of local people who see her as a laughing stock and they are not Establishment, they come from all over. You are so out of touch sometimes and seem to live in a closed box.

  14. I wonder if her hotel room will be ransacked whilst she is in the island?

You know, the old Syvret - Soar - Evans routine.

  15. Leah.

You probably realise that you are the only journalist in the whole wide world that is naive, or brave enough to take on the years of uncovered corruption in this lovely Island of ours....

Hope its the later of the two?

  16. I see there are some worried people posting on here today, its easy to note them, so worried that they feel not only the need to keep reading this blog (that they have often stated is a waste of time), but also take the time to post mindless (effectively pedophile supporter) comments, clearly demonstrating their utter dislike of a professional journalist who will not be silenced.

I must say, when comparing the CTV, JEP and the Max Keiser Show, one likes to cut and paste inaccurate reports to win awards, another often either ignores reporting on matters of real public interest or mis-reports, and one was a highly exiting TV program that got the truth out in a very entertaining fashion.

  17. "I see there are some worried people posting on here today"

How? We have a fully independent inquiry starting in the next few months so how do you work that posters are worried?

  18. Perhaps Leah can get an in depth interview with Superman on Friday at the premiere? How do you fell about Justice in Jersey? Does Russell Crowe have any comment on the Visa process for working in Jersey? Is vigilantism really the way to go in an endemically corrupt environment? Is a man in a cape and underpants on the outside of his clothes the only way to protect our children and their future?

  19. From Facebook on the return of Leah Goodman:

"Daren O'Toole - Unfortunately her sources are crackpot conspiracy theorists and the journalists are unemployed morons who write blogs and wouldn't know a piece of investigative journalism if I slapped them round the head with one."

    1. Daren speaks for lots of local people.

    2. It's surprising to learn that Daren is a leading authority on investigative journalism.

He is (as we all are) entitled to his opinions and Blog readers are able to make up their own minds as to which Blogs provide documented evidence to support their publications and which just offer opinions with no substance.

    3. Glad that post from O'Tool is saved for posterity. It'll make the humble pie that he will eat taste all the sweeter.

  21. I must say, whenever I see a post from someone who clearly has their head stuck in the sand, I think of them as crackpots, who have theories based on not knowing the facts :-)

  22. So which stories are being basically ignored by Jerseys very own professional media ? Lets put it a different way, if they were interested in honest public interest stories there is a large file to choose from using objective factual figures and asking tough real life questions. Lets have some fun, and in no particular order.

An interview with international author Leah Mc Grath Goodman on why she has returned to Jersey.

An interview with the Home affairs Minister on evidenced high level police corruption and his plan to deal with it.
Should Jurats sit in Judgement when they are not taken from a cross section of society ?

An interview with Stuart Syvret on Jersey then and Jersey now.

Why was the boss of the Jersey Development company given a £28,000 bonus when he is not in a commercially competitive environment like private business.

The future of toxic waste at the Waterfront incinerator site, is anyone doing anything ?

A freedom of information requests - for the final cost of the incinerator. The individuals who put Frank Walkers Name forward for an OBE, How many different Shadow Boards, Commissions and Quango's exist out side of States Departments and how much do they cost the Treasury.

Why a lady flys in from America to sit on the harbours and airport shadow Committee and who pays her expenses for a three hour meeting.

Why haven't certain politicians been reprimanded and fined for data protection breaches.

Is it fair that politicians can claim back social security contributions on their tax returns ? a clear benefit not open to the rest of Jerseys workforce.

Who pay's Dean Bob Key's £25,000 wages for saying prayers in the assembly, and how much has the CoE cost Jersey, Parish by Parish in the last ten years?

The public are not convinced that a new Financial Quarter needs building, when Le Masuriers are building office space using private money not underwritten by Government, what is the Governments case to convince the public ?

Thats just five minutes worth, less face it the Jersey Media are a waste of space, when it comes to lifting the carpet, over to a real professional like Leah.

  23. It's revealing to see that commenters who hate or fear Leah McGrath Goodman's return also sound exactly like the ones who pretended to misinterpret her interview statements about banned books. Why did those who wanted her to investigate child abuse understand perfectly well what her words meant? Interesting divide, isn't it? The trolling of everything to do with this journalist will be extreme and relentless. After all, for the UK and Jersey to ban her was an extraordinary act and highly suspicious. Do not believe it will be left to one lone drunken troll to handle this one. These trolls will be more insidious and probably well paid for their results.

    1. You will notice, as in Daren's comment above, that those who are "against" Ms. Goodman write/publish comments that are little more than personal insults and opinion.

Those who support her work (this Blog) in researching the decades of paedophilia on this island tend to stick to the evidence. Those who's priority it is to protect our children are not interested in tittle-tattle abusive comments attacking the people who are attempting to get to the truth.

Readers will make up their own mind as to who/what is credible or not.

    2. It seems weird that you want this lady to start looking into the historic abuse subject only months away from a multi-million pound independent inquiry?

Do you not think she should at least wait until this has finished?

      Delete
    3. Leah McGrath Goodman commenced her research on this subject long before the Committee Of Inquiry existed. So she isn't just "starting" to look into the abuse subject, indeed she is leaps and bounds ahead of the COI as that hasn't even started yet.

    4. Anon on 13 June @ 16:52,
What Leah McGrath Goodman investigates will not be subject to the same political censorship. Remember, any proper COI must address the issue of more than a generation of lies, deceit, illegality and corruption at the heart of the cover-up. That LMG was banned only because she was writing about Haut de la Garenne and the resultant cover-up, is too blatantly obvious to deny. Aren't those same officials who feared her exposure still in place? Why would anyone blindly trust one COI to be the final, absolute truth, when so many in power have effectively thwarted transparency and justice for decades? or, did you mean to imply that checks and balances, transparent government and trustworthy politicians in Jersey were the new norm?

  25. Have now filmed an exclusive interview with Leah McGrath Goodman and hope to publish it soon. Some very interesting/alarming facts have come to light, as a result of her investigations, which will be revealed (yet again) exclusively on the Blogs.

  27. From one who visited Jersey on holiday with the family recently but who also took a tour past H de la G because I was aware of the furore over the abuse that obviously went on there, I hope that the Jersey Hierarchy can finally 'face the music'. Quite frankly the longer this rumbles on, the worse it seems to those of us watching from across the Channel.
