Today was the start of Mr. Syvret's Court Case which saw a sinister turn of events. The Former Senator is in real fear of his life and the lives of his close friends.

Mr. Syvret, in this second interview below, part one being HERE tells us why the Court Case was adjourned after only forty minutes and will re-convene tomorrow.

The former Senator disclosed (off camera) in frightening detail, the macabre and sinister threats that had been received. Details of which will inevitably form part of this complex legal battle.

  1. Oh my goodness that is diabolical & very disturbing for Stuart & he's friends who are haveing these very real death threats. This is what you get for trying to get Justice, well it is disgraceful & it shows how low people of this Island will go to shut people up. You keep fighting Stuart & never give up.

  2. If it is the person I think it is, he has made threats before, not only to Stuart but to other people who are supporting the child abuse victims, including the victims of child abuse. Jersey Police are going to get the high jump if they dontdo something about this, its disgusting.

  3. Terrible and not surprised. Have the local MSM thrown their toys out the pram because there hasn't been any coverage. I know he says he wont speak to them but t surely they still have a public duty? Do you know if the local MSM were present in court today.

  4. The JEP had a reporter there. No BBC or CTV.

  7. Well I watched CTV and no mention of this very serious huge public interest case, switched to BBC local, and nothing.

Had to come onto citizens media to find out what happened today. Says it all really, the controlled TV new programs are not doing their jobs very well!!

  8. Threats against thoroughly decent people and an ex-politician exposing the depths of corruption in this septic little isle. Shocking, and not a mention on any news outlet tonight.

Not the only revelation to emerge in Court today either!

It will be so interesting to see what does and does not get reported by the msm.

Echoes here of Lenny Harper and the death threats he received when investigating the child abuse scandal. And there is nothing to hide??!!

Upwards and onwards Stuart. You know you have a LOT of support.

  9. What is the normal prison sentence for someone making death threats to a person/s?

Why have both the BBC and CTV not told this very serious story?

    ReplyDelete
  10. stuart you should name if you know who is making the threats if they he/she know that a lot of other people know it wont be so easy for them. if that dose not work there are a lot of us who will stand and fight if needs be and i dont mean with words

I was in court today and I can say the person was named and as is the case with Stuart backed up with 100% solid proof. So solid was the proof that Pritchers and Baker had no quarrels about there being an adjournment.

I think it's important that the readers of this blog know that what was said in court was based on solid foundation. For obvious reasons we must be careful and will see what the JEP run with tomorrow.

Judge Pritchers was in no mood for an adjournment but when faced with the facts adjourned it was.

    They settled for 2pm Tomorrow

  13. Stay strong Stuart, you've got this far, you have to keep going. You'd be amazed at how much support you have.
This behaviour is typical and despicable! It is time it was stopped.
With you all the way Stuart.
    Good luck and best wishes.

  18. Martin.

I would not publish the name, primarily as there is a live court case involved.

  19. Stuart should get on with his case and stop wasting time.

  20. Whats the betting the people that have threatened him are his blog victims?

What about the friends Stuart is residing with at this present time, are they blog victims to ,or are they the ones that will cast the first stone?

  21. Hi Martin

Sorry, but that wont be happening. The court case is on going.

  23. Looking forward to the JEP report tomorrow. {They were in court}.
Concidering they named the States of Jerseys, Head of Education in a live case. There is no reason for them not to name this States of Jersey member in this live case.

  24. Why have the so called victims of Stuarts blog never pursued these allegations through a civil court

One of the reasons perhaps is that to much information would come out during the proceedings

Why bother when you have a golden handshake and are answerable to none

  25. This is the answer rico got on PJ about the BBC not being at the Syvret court case

    Rico

I'm not the one who decides where to deploy staff but my personal suggestion would be that we don't have enough staff to send to a court hearing - we rarely send to court hearings for that very reason.

While most of the people working at BBC Radio Jersey are journalists, once you take out presenters, newsreaders, producers and people required to be in listening (compliance requirements from BBC in the UK) there aren't many people left over to go out and sit in a court.

But again - deciding who to send where is not my job - that is just my own opinion.

  26. Explain to me please ,why the police cannot push this threatening
    character to court.
Why the magistrates court cannot deal with him.
Why a Parish Constable cannot deal with him.
Does everthing have to go through the AG ?

  27. Blog less, judge tells Syvret

    Stuart Syvret.
FORMER Senator Stuart Syvret was told to spend less time on his blog and more time preparing for his court case by a UK judge yesterday.

Commissioner Sir Christopher Pitchers made the observation when Mr Syvret told him in the Royal Court that he needed more time to prepare his legal argument for this week’s hearing.

The judge also told Mr Syvret that because of an email the former Senator sent to him, he might have to remove himself from the case but would wait until he saw Mr Syvret’s written submissions.

‘Normally the judge or a tribunal cannot really receive communication from the parties in case there is contentious material that you think might influences the case,’ Sir Christopher said, before adjourning the case until 2 pm today.

  28. Yes that's the JEP Reporting for you. That was an off the cuff, tongue and cheek remark made by commissioner Pitchers during yesterday's court hearing.

After everything that was said, including the death threats, the JEP run with that headline. The "discredited" media bl--dy priceless, or is that 'worthless?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Forgot to say, and they (the 'discredited" media) wonder why Stuart Syvret doesn't want to talk to them?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Regarding the te Mainstream Media, try priceless, worthless and brainless. They are certainly useless in my opinion!

  31. Re the JEP Page 5.

Once again uncredited opinion. The blog of the privileged crew.

My instant impression from this JEP blog post is, that Stuart is time wasting.

Death threats weremention but skimmed over. Mr. Bakers points of Mr. Syvrets medical records managed to highlight a concern for Mr. Syvrets mental wellbeing. Job done PR wise.

You are your own man. Its your free time your blog.

Your well being is that not between you and your doctor?

I think Mr. Baker playing for some point scoring courtesy of JEP blog.

I hope Mr. Pitchers comment was tounge in cheek re the email he received.

Well that explains a little why no comments allowed, why let the truth get in the way of a JEP scoop!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Who was doing the JEP reporting, in court? Because whoever it was has not put their name to that report.

Infact no one has put their name to it.

    Wonder why not?

  34. It would be beneficial if someone saved the hard copy of this credited media JEP articles for future reference.

  35. Would it be since the Jersey evening Post Miss Shackles reporting saga, that Jerseys credited media decided to play safe.

Publish opinions without credititing a particular journalist.

  36. VFC,

Is Stuart giving you a report of todays events this evening?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Is this all you lot are bothered about? Who is reporting what? I thought there was a case in motion here and you spend more time nattering about the JEP, BBC and CTV and all its reporting than anything else these days.

Step back and think about it by cutting the chaff!

    ReplyDelete
  38. That is a most misleading headline in the JEP because Commissioner Pitchers made the reference to Stuart's blog in a light hearted and humourous manner.

The death threats were not made in the same vein, and were taken very seriously by the family involved and Stuart himself. Why was not the important issue in this article?

The reporter was Dolores Cowburn (sorry Dolores), and am I surprised that her words have been twisted and de-sensationalised in this report by the 'powers that be' at the JEP - NO!

I am also sure Stuart and the prison doctor were well able to assess his well-being and any medication he may have been required to take without the 'intervention' of a police officer and Advocate Baker.

What the HELL is going on?

  41. Our classes are monitoring the Jersey media situation again, so the JEP emphasis on the judicial comments about the blog were timely.

Our Teaching Assistant remembers reading a joke on a Jersey blog about the JEP, one in which Senator Syvret rushes heroically to a burning house, only to have the reporter make it sound like he was an intruding vandal. Students want to state that it seems too much like real life to be a joke, now.

We also found the BBC Jersey comments about not having anyone available to attend or report on these hearings to be quite extraordinary. Students consider it practically an admission that all of the BBC Jersey staff is so engaged in getting broadcasts to the public that no one is left to actually gather real Jersey news stories. Simply stunning!

One student suggested that "Just Phoning It In," should be the BBC Jersey motto.

We have written to BBC UK offices to inquire about BBC Jersey bias in the past, but have only received auto-replies. In our experience it is unusual for a sincere and formal classroom inquiry to be so disregarded by any major media outlet, but then the JEP and CTV have never responded to our inquiries by even as much as a simple auto-reply, and CTV video is no longer available for viewing in the US.

In case you are curious, our complaint to BBC and to all local MSM was that we found it necessary to rely on independent web sites and blogs to obtain the most critical facts relevant to the single largest news story Jersey Island has had in a generation.

  42. That creep has committed crimes against me, and Stafford Police have been informed, and have refused to do anything about it as well. So that person (we all know his name) is apparently not just in control of Jersey Police, he is also in control of Stafford Police as well! He must be a really really really big VIP! His alias as a slimy little toad must be masking his real ID as the King of England and Jersey, as he seems to be able to do exactly what he wants to do, and two police forces (at least), the Jersey Senate and the whole media empire are comnpletly under his thumb!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh no, not Dolores Cowburn! It was one of her reports that caused me to stop purchasing the JEP. She quoted on a front page report that Lenny Harper had refused to hand over his day books. This was well after his having already clearly stated that he didnt have day books to hand over, information that had previously been published in the paper, information available to her.

  44. 'The judge also told Mr Syvret that because of an email the former Senator sent to him, he might have to remove himself from the case but would wait until he saw Mr Syvret’s written submissions.'

The impression that i gained of this part of the court case was that Mr.Pitcher was, understandably, not happy to be receiving emails directly from a defendant without it being copied to the prosecution to make it above board.

  45. If Mr Syvret wants to redeem himself in the eyes of the public, he would do well to brush off the dust from his notes about nuclear power and Cap de la Hague reactor.

Its time to change the tune and discuss other issues. Jersey is within the exclusion zone if something goes wrong a la Fukishima. I don't own a boat and I am not swimming across to France to escape.

  46. I need no redemption.

It's the Jersey public who need redemption - from their own folly.

  53. I posted the Pot Kettle Black comment.

You are quite welcome to call me a fool in 6 months if Stuart ends up in Strasbourg Court of Human Rights. He hasn't a hope as his human rights have not been breached.

If you surround yourself with like minded people you will have a totally distorted view of the world.

I've followed Stuarts blog for 2 years now and read the various reports. No Government is perfect and I know some of you have suffered.

What is amazing is time an again my posts which ask questions which oppose Stuart's views have been rejected by Stuart, they never make it onto his blog - his blog is worse than Pravda. Pot Kettle Black

Have you thought why the JEP ignore his case - it is not a historic battle against corruption. It's about somebody who thinks he can act as Judge and Jury himself.

I am pleased you consider my Blog worth returning to and you are more than welcome to express your opinion on here. I would be interested to know, if you leave similar comments on the "discredited" media sites, and if they allow them through?

I can't say that I share your opinion(s) and do not feel the need to defend Stuart as he is more than able to do this himself better than I ever could.
