  1. None of these are even stories VFC and if that's a year of citizens media I think I will stick to the good old JEP.

    1. Good on you the JEP could really do with the support with their readership and credibility dwindling.

    2. You cannot seriously say that these stories are a substitute for the JEP?

    3. The JEP does what the JEP does and this Blog does what this Blog does. The JEP's readership is dwindling and this Blog's hits have doubled in the last year. Make of that what you will.

  3. These are political agenda items and not news.
Its also a sad attempt to make stories out of non stories but if these are the top 10 out of a whole year, I think people are giving the citizens media brigade more credit than they are worth.
I also see the JEP have covered all these and more anyway.

    2. So covering ex Senators and current Deputies who have lost a libel case is not part of a political agenda then and the JEP have covered both, more so in fact. For example you never even went through any of the judgements which incredibly have been partly looked at on Facebook of all places.

Well said anonymous, you made your point. Keep on reading the " stories " in the JEP, it is obvious by your comment, on this blog, that good factual reporting on a good site like this one, is just a little to tough for you to comprehend at the moment.

Best give up writing silly comments don't you think, and stay with your favourite comic.

  5. VFC.

It would be interesting to find out if P. Bailhache is happy or sad / proud or disappointed with this number one slot. Do you think its worth approaching him for a comment, or even an interview?

Also do you have any news on Stuart Syvret's wellbeing and release date?

  6. Waste of time asking Senator Bailhache for an interview as I've tried in the past only to be ignored. One would hope that he is totally ashamed of reaching the top spot with that particular letter where he attempted to portray an Abuse Victim as the perpetrator. Alas I fear he is probably proud.

    1. I doubt he will be losing much sleep about it.

  7. I just read 3 of your top links and they are so biased.
Maybe you and Rico Sorda can try and get more balanced posts next year and actually take time to interviewing both sides for a change before crashing in with a load of one sided nonsense?

    1. The Blogs are an alternative to the one-sided bias nonsense peddled by the State Media. If (in most cases) you want “The Party Line” or “balance” to the Blog’s publications you should look/listen at/to the State Media who all sing from the same hymn sheet. The Blogs are the balance.

  8. Thank you voiceforchildren for publishing facts on your blog site allowing the readers to make their own mind up on whether or not they are stories spin or truth.

  9. How many of the people you write about, have retired moved on or received golden handshakes. ?

    Dropping like flies.

  10. VFC. A Top Ten of real news and fairly covered as opposed to the regularly false and rarely even literate 'reports' from the JEP. Frankly, whilst I admire your willingness to engage with any and all the critical 'comments' here are so obviously from the same troll I wouldn't have bothered publishing them. Still, if it helps with said loser's therapy you are likely doing a service. Keep up the good work in the New Year.

  11. Will Channel Television and the Jersey Evening post follow up on the threatening letter case?

A case they were quick to run with, yet are sitting on the side lines in pursuit of truth of the matter.

How the police have not solved this serious case, surely needs reviewing.

  12. Well done completing another year of accomplished, evidence-based journalism. You have much to be proud of and more to look forward to in 2014. May this be the year when the evidence you've published brings new awareness of your facts to the public, and justice for the brave survivors. Hope the new year is a very happy one for you.

  13. I wonder if the JEPonline have started to toe a States Communication Department hegemony as a New Years resolution? As evidence I point you at the top seven stories on line this morning 2/1/14 9.34 (Stops at Plastic Banknotes) there are five 'important stories' none of which have any comment possible but 'Turkey Busters' and 'Islanders Honoured' do.
I can just see the crowing that 'JEP readers 'love a positive story'' in a unique Jersey Newspeak.

  14. All the best for 2014 to you and yours.

Please keep up the solid fact base reporting this year. Along with the other Jersey bloggers you are creating a valuable archive of material which will hopefully be used eventually to bring abusers and perpetrators of cover ups to justice.

Your great strength and complementarity is the fabulous video interviews you do. Please keep them up even if you have to hound the participants. You are among the few interviewers I know who appreciates the power of silence in an interview. Great stuff.

  15. Following my theme of the JEP following SoJ Communications directions yesterday there appears to be a new 'guideline for the masses and a new Averty on the scene to boot (as a rookie reporter no less). I have to admit to reading the full online edition (mea culpa) to draw out the 'bleedin' obvious ,political direction.
    1. Simon Crowcroft will NOT be Chief Minister.
    2. Ring Binder MaClean WILL be Chief Minister (despite questions on him even standing for election) .
    3. Lyndon ( Fag-end)Farnham has graciously decided not to accept the Home Affairs Ministry but is going to be Minister for Economic Development , this is reinforced by a risible full page business plug and new photo opportunity for his Gym Share business launch linking the headline 'Political Muscle' with a personal business that HAS NOT PAID FOR AN ADVERT . oh not to forget the photo and comment box about the Jersey Tourism advert.

So you now know who to support don't you. The JEP has spoken (for others).

  16. Everyone should stop using Broadlands and the JEP for what they have done. Its a disgrace!
